Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

AustriaThis is a clean hostel, perfectly located to discover the city, with all the required equipment. It also does not have many rooms, which makes it overall calm! If I come back to Ljubljana, this will be my choice.

GermanyIt's a hostel, so you can't expect much in terms of noise, but it was incredibly loud. Both the street noise and the creaking door, which I could hear even with earplugs. Also, someone was ringing the door bell for half the night because they had probably forgotten the password. I assume that there is no staff there at night. That robbed me of all my sleep...

CanadaShower drains were not good and therefore you were standing in water while showering. I feel like the shower doors themselves were installed backwards because you can see who is showering and therefore invading people’s privacy BUT you, who is showering cannot picture who is outside your shower doors… I’d recommend doing something about this (especially as a female solo traveller). Also wifi at times cuts out randomly but, oh well. These are my only drawbacks!
Exceptionally clean! Very nice and young staff. All people who stayed (from what I noticed) at the hostel were 30 y/o or below. Beds were not squeaky and bathrooms were always fully stocked.

SerbiaYou can tell that the hostel is new, it's super clean and has a fresh vibe to it. The building itself is surprisingly beautiful, as is the whole surrounding area.. The location is perfect, close to Preseren square, Tivoli park, major museums, etc.

AustriaThere is no proper space to store food, the fridge is really small. When you leave your luggage after check out, it's just hanging by the reception, sometimes unoccupied. Privacy is also a problem. In the unisex bathroom area, the showers aren't really covered besides the glass like you have at domicile showers. No private place to change either - walking in and out of the shower you might find yourself without clothes in front of guests of both sexes who brush their teeth in front of the shower. I'm really unsure what the designers had in mind; this concept won't fit all guests, maybe for FKK goers only. The lock in the men's toilet isn't working. Might as well hope people won't open the door too fast. Signs telling guests to "pick hair from the shower" - is this my house or a place I pay to stay in?
The staff was very nice, and the location was comfortable and good.

New ZealandThe shower doors are partially see through so other people can see you showering. Showering is also really challenging because there is nowhere to put your things so you have to leave your things outside then open the door and reach out to get your clothes/towel etc. Female toilet broke twice during our 2 night stay. Very small kitchen and fridge, not much space for cooking or storing food. No rubbish bin in kitchen for things that can’t be recycled and the staff member didn’t seem to understand how recycling works. No shelf for your things in your bunks and curtains in the room aren’t great. People were ringing the doorbell at night and because the hostel is not staffed 24/7 we had to help them. We tried calling the number a couple of times but there was no response. No comfortable area in the hostel to relax or socialise with others so you really didn’t want to be there other than to sleep. Not a good place to stay if you want to talk to anyone else. A clean but very basic hostel. Fine to sleep in, but lacks anything welcoming or special that many other hostels around Europe have. Wouldn’t stay there again unless it was just for 1 night and just to sleep.
