The neighborhood wasn't every pedestrian friendly, but restaurants and shops were not too far away.

The facilities were secure, comfortable, and quiet, with a very nice pool for hot days. The room was very comfortable and clean. The host was very accommodating.

This family-run hotel may not look great in the street, once you enter the court yard through a gated door, it will blow you away. The car us parked in the court with gated door. The host is so friendly, check in is very fast, he even gave us refrigerated bottled water once we finished. The room is very clean and air-conditioning is very powerful. Basically everything is wonderful here, this is the best hotel we stayed at on our 13 days Central America trip. We left very early before 6AM to cross into Honduras, we wish we can stay longer at this wonderful place.

Im normally fine with barking street dogs, However, There was a crazy street dog outside the kept trying to attack me and got very close to biting me. Was very anxious for leaving and coming back to the hotel. The kitchen has a fridge and a microwave but nothing Much else to cook with.

The room is great. Big bed, clean en suites with good AC. The staff were lovely and there’s lots of space. Price was fair since I couldn’t find any hostels in the town.

The road down to the hotel was quite rocky but passable even in heavy rain.

Friendly staff, everything looked new, clean and fresh. Comfortable bed & good breakfast. The pool was simple and refreshing. Nice toiletries and towels. Free drinking water.

There was a sceptic smell in the bathroom, so maybe they could put a perfume candle or stg.

Excellent value for money. Close to border with Honduras so I could comfortably drive back to Managua within the day. Nice staff, room quite spacious with aircon.

Not much to complain about, the water only got luke warm however given how warm it was outside, was not too much a problem.

I loved nearly everything, air con, tv with netflix, windows (with a screen), big bed, pool, free water. Felt secure.Good value.

The only "bad" thing is the roosters crowing, but they're not even that loud.

Air conditioning! The staff is incredibly nice and helpful. They drove me to the bus stop to the border in the morning. The room was quite large.

The bed was very comfortable and the room very spacious. The secure parking was great, as I was traveling by motorcycle. The family that owns it is very welcoming and helpful with anything you need. From food delivery or my odd request to print something. They also have a very beautiful pool. Was a great place for me to stay before crossing into Honduras.

Internet didn't work for me but had good cell reception so no big deal. The air fresheners in the room were a bit overwhelming but you can easily plug/cover them.

Great option close to the Honduran border if you want to cross Honduras in one day. Room was big and clean. Parking right by the room felt secure. Friendly host family. Good restaurant(s) within walking distance.

What a wonderful, relaxing place to stay. I stayed for 3 nights after a bicycle accident and I felt very welcome, and well cared for. The room was spacious, very clean, good bedding, good shower pressure, air conditioning worked well. Nice common areas to sit and relax, hammocks, free coffee, cold drinking water, microwave, and I was offered the use of the kitchen if needed. The location is very quiet, away from the busy-ness of the centre but close enough to walk there. The only thing that spoilt the near perfect stay was that as I was preparing to leave, the beautiful dog, Luna, growled at me (which I didn’t mind) and the owner kicked her - no wonder she’s nervous of people (I’m sorry but I cannot condone that kind of treatment of animals - and it certainly won’t help her to feel secure enough not to growl)

Great family run hostal in eastern El Salvador. Very clean, great facilities and excellent positioned for traveling to Honduras and Nicaragua. Located in a quiet neighborhood and including a nice pool to cool down from the heat.

Clean, spacious & comfortable rooms, pool, kindest owners ever. one of the best places we’ve stayed in Central America so far. About location, as is mentioned many times in other reviews, Hostal Don Luis is 900m away from the main road where the buses stop. it takes about 10 minutes to walk, so no, it’s not far away.
