Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI recently had the pleasure of staying at Los Almendros de San Lorenzo, and it was an experience that exceeded all expectations. From the moment I stepped into the lobby, I was enveloped in an atmosphere of tranquility and luxury. The first thing that struck me was the impeccable attention to detail in the hotel's design. The elegant furnishings, tasteful decor, and tropical plants created an ambiance of refined sophistication. Every corner seemed thoughtfully curated to provide guests with a sense of comfort and relaxation. Upon check-in, I was greeted by the warm and welcoming staff who made me feel like a valued guest from the start. Their professionalism and attentiveness set the tone for the rest of my stay. We even met the owners of the hotel Joaquin and Pascal and shared drinks and dinner, they were amazing, great conversations. The room itself was a sanctuary of comfort. Spacious, well-appointed, and impeccably clean, it felt like a home away from home. The plush bedding ensured a restful night's sleep, and the luxurious amenities including a fountain inside the room added an extra touch of indulgence. I especially appreciated the attention to detail, from the high-quality toiletries to the thoughtful turndown service. One of the highlights of my stay was the hotel's dining options. The on-site restaurant offered a diverse menu of delectable dishes crafted with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. Each meal was a culinary delight, accompanied by impeccable service and a serene ambiance. What truly sets Los Almendros de San Lorenzo Hotel apart, however, is its exceptional service. In conclusion, my stay at Los Almendros de San Lorenzo Hotel was nothing short of spectacular. From the luxurious accommodations to the impeccable service, every aspect exceeded my expectations. Whether you're seeking a peaceful retreat or a luxurious getaway, I wholeheartedly recommend this hotel for an unforgettable experience.

United StatesI am so glad I booked my stay at San Lorenzo. The entire staff was welcoming, helpful and made me feel like it was my home away from home. The pool was perfect for cooling off after the warm days. The food was also delicious. I will definitely come back and recommend to others.

United StatesWhat a spectacular stay! Los Almendros de San Lorenzo is a truly special place. We stayed for a few days during New Year's during a family trip to El Salvador. What a magical experience! The hotel is lovingly cared for and beautifully maintained. So much beauty and art awaits in this beautiful hotel, as well as a gorgeous pool, wonderful breakfasts, and great hospitality. We enjoyed a beautiful New Year's Eve dinner with live jazz band. Suchitoto is incredibly beautiful! We enjoyed a boat ride and saw hundreds of gorgeous birds resting on the shimmering waters. This is a truly special hotel in a beautiful place. I highly recommend staying at Los Almendros de San Lorenzo and visiting beautiful Suchitoto if you are in El Salvador! So much joy and beauty!

El SalvadorSome items are missing in the bathroom, such as a hair dryer. The doors, being old, make a lot of noise when opening or closing.
The staff, especially in the restaurant, is very friendly and helpful.

Puerto RicoWe should have stayed longer.
Hands down, one of the best hotels we have stayed at, anywhere in the world. Very charming. You feel like you are stepping into a lovely museum, with period furnishings and antiques all around you. From the moment we entered to the time we left, the staff was attentive and courteous. They promptly handled our needs with flair and discretion. The extremely talented chef served mouthwatering meals at lunch and dinner. Tip: have the maracuya cheesecake for dessert. We had breakfast in the lovely courtyard by the fountain. The pool is picturesque, surrounded by lush vegetation. For those of us accustomed to U.S. or European prices, both room and dining are very reasonable in comparison. And the best part is that San Salvador is only 5 hours from both New York and California. Our only regret was that we were at Los Almendros de San Lorenzo for a short time but we can easily return for a long weekend.

United StatesThe pool area was nice but pool itself was full of leaves when we arrived in late afternoon. Would have been nice to have pool towels in the room.
This is a very unique hotel in a great location in town that is walkable to restaurants and the town center. Hotel is decorated with interesting art and has beautiful garden areas. Breakfast was good and could be enjoyed in beautiful common spaces. We also liked seeing the resident dog Lorenzo on site.

This hotel is a little piece of tucked-away heaven! You step into what feels like a beautiful art museum, it captures your attention, yet is a relaxed and warm atmosphere. The staff were wonderful, helpful and attentive, breakfast was lovely and meal options good. Our room was stunning both in size and design, clean, spacious, cool and relaxing, we really couldn't have wished for anything more. We didn't use the pool, however, spent a little time in this area and it was regularly cleaned and was of a good size with really pretty surroundings.
