    Nothing

Beautiful location set in a nature reserve with lovely views. Lots of wildlife and birds to observe. Allow yourself time to do one of the walking trails, we only had an overnight stay so there wasn't really enough time to take advantage of it. Fascinating history of Mick Reilly and how the lodge came about.

Sign posting from the main gate needs to improve, particularly if arriving after dark as we did. A map at the gate would easily solve this.

Rooms are dark, lighting too white so no cozy feeling, maybe more lamps, feels to be in an old house that needs some renovation. Some rooms are bit claustrophobic.

Greenery around, friendly staff, excellent breakfast, quietness nature feeling

Arriving at night was a disaster. No signage from the main road.....the night guard's directions to the properties gates were wrong...and no signage 30m from the entrance gate. This would have saved us an hour of driving around looking for the property entrance. Easily solved by leaving maps at the main Milwane entrance.Fix co ordinates on Waze..they are wrong.

A fantastic unique old classic dame of a property. Elegant, charming and really oozing that Out of Africa charm

Actually nothing was negative about our experience at the lodge. Only remark I would give is regarding the washing service for clothes. This is offered, however this is at a cost, which is not informed upfront and were actually unreasonably high (even for European standards). For the room rates we expected this to be included.

A beautiful lodge tucked away in the woods at the edge of a game reserve. The road towards the lodge is typically African and an experience in itself, where you will see several South-African animals. When you arrive at the lodge you will see a classic, old and very well preserved lodge, and you will be met by the most friendly and fun staff. The rooms are quite spacious and their style perfectly represent the Swaziland experience. Breakfast is very good, many options and the quality is very good. The outside breakfast area overlooks the forest and a city in the distance. The trees close to the lodge houses various animals and if you are lucky, as we were two mornings, monkeys are playing in these trees. At the end of the day dinner is served at the camp fire, where food will be prepared on a 'braai' (South-African version of a barbeque), and all guest will have dinner around the camp fire together. The lodge offers a very limited range of drinks (whiskey and wines), however for a very small fee you are allowed to bring your own. From the lodge there are a few activities you can do at another camp close-by, highly recommended.

The water from the showers from the guest house was brown/sandy But it didn't bother us!

The hotel owners were very friendly and committed, had even given us the big guesthouse for the same price. A very nice place for hiking. Fine dining whether breakfast or dinner. Thank you for the great hospitality. Family Kämpfer

Being in nature was nice, the setup and architecture are great. What exceeded expectations by far were the people. Lizzie, Ruth, Titi, Lameti and pretty much everyone showed real care for me when I was their guest as if they were responsible for my well being they way they would be for close family.

Scarcity of directional signage to the property and the ramp to reception (helpful for moving wheeled luggage) is very slippery - best use the stairs when going down.

Beautiful old house with lovely furnishings, a very charming hostess and great meals - very much enjoyed the dinner on individual tray tables around the campfire.

    see above

This lodge is beautifully situated in the lovely Mlilwane reserve. The rooms were clean, the staff were kind and helpful (special thanks to Kanyi and Ruth). The food was very good, although I'm not sure how typical it was as we were there on an atypical weekend, when the lodge's only other guest was a large entourage of 20+ to some VIP involved in conservation philanthropy. Needless to say, the staff were quite busy seeing to the needs of such a large group. The disadvantage to coming at such a time was the normally communal lounge area and communal fire pit were relegated to the exclusive use of that group. The other downside to being there at this time was that there were late night meetings in the adjacent "communal" lounge that kept us awake as sound carried easily through the wooden structures. The reserve is great, though, and unlike big 5 parks that (sensibly) limit activities to guided walks or driving safaris, this area satisfied our family's need for outdoor activities, from horseriding to biking, hiking, and birding. The many different types of herbivores were also fun to see. The access to various hiking trails from the lodge was excellent!

Road up washed out and almost tipped our vehicle after a massive earthquake storm.

Hidden away on a mountain top in the middle if a game reserve. Tranquil with beautiful views, good pricing, and great food! Completely surrounded by botanical type gardens and massive trees, the resort has managed to keep the jungle out while letting enough in to feel deeply connected to nature. Exquisite experience as long as you don't mind the precarious drive up the mountain. We played with two large tortoises and an incredible variety of birds. A hidden treasure for sure!

It's not easy to find especially in the dark. Could really do with well light signage and letting people know that a 4X4 maybe useful for their visit.

There’s only a bath and no normal functioning shower.

Staff was so friendly and caring. The dinner at campfireplace was lovely! The location was a little hard to find due to constructions on the main road but the ride trough the nature reserve all the way up is breathtaking! Don’t book just for 1 night, the trip to the accomodation and back is a bit too adventures.
