Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndiaEntrance to the hotel is by using common elevators of shopping mall, which really was strange.
With limited options of hotels in Dili, Timor seems to be a good option above Shopping Mall.

ChinaThe facilities in the room are rather worn and old, the room doesn't look very clean (bedsheets, etc.), the rooms are too old and lack proper maintenance, they should do a renovation, very expensive for a room like this, but you don't have a lot of choices in Dili. If I go again, I'll still pick this one, unless new hotels are built with better rooms
Free airport pickup/drop off (message/WhatsApp them in advance), very responsive on WhatsApp, free sunrise tour to Christo Rei, good breakfast, good location (on the 5th floor in a shopping mall, with restaurants, food court and coffee shops downstairs) Note: the mall closes at 6pm, but Burger King, Gloria Jean's Coffee and Quolina Healthy shop open late (super yummy budha bow in the healthy store, and good coffee at Rolls and Bowls in the food court), staff really helpful and pleasant, the room is very big with big safe and good wifi, also the restaurant on the same floor has great panorama views of the city and every Friday there's happy hour with live band, some expats and locals go there for the happy hour

AustraliaNot much to dislike about this hotel and these are nit-picking feedback for improvements: - Consider seasonally changing hotel restaurant menu b/c as a regular patron of over 1.5 years who regularly eat there, the food is starting to be be same - same - Please bring back the rice porridge option for breakfast buffet. - A more fully equipped gym would be nice
- All the staff are professionally friendly and very helpful including front desk, restaurant bar, shuttle bus and housekeeping staff. Special mentions for Mana Rita and Maun Jefrey for their positive energy and accommodating customer service. - Comfortable, clean and spacious hotel rooms - Good hot and cold variety of breakfast buffet included - Safe, secure and convinient location - Relatively good dining options within small steps away from hotel - Airport shuttle bus and shuttle bus to local town beach included

Good hotel to stay to launch our trip to Atauro, Ramelau and Jaco. We were able to store our luggage from time to time, and staff are always helpful to attend to our needs. It has a restaurant with good view, and the shops and food court nearby are convenient to get supplies for our trips. Glad we picked this hotel!

Location, staff and food. The staff went above and beyond to make your stay comfortable. The hotel is situated above the main shopping precinct ( to us in the west was very small ) has a food court, supermarket and a few good souvenir shops and reliable ATM. The accommodation was a little bit more expensive but with breakfast and a pick up and drop off to the airport made it comparable. They also have use of a swimming pool near by ( l was dropped and picked up in a golf buggy ) which was a great bonus in the hot climate and at no extra cost too.Their restaurant/ bar has a awesome view looking over the city all the way to Cristo Rei de Dili statue on the hillside east of the city. The shopping center and hotel is kept spotless. As a solo women traveller, l felt safe at all times and would highly recommend Timor Plaza Hotel

Australiathere are insects and cockroaches in the room, hope hotel can do insects control. Besides that everything is 5 star, however the country has a lot to develop. It felt boring from the third day, and after 7pm Timor Plaza closes and it gets dark. There is nothing to do after that. Hope to see a prosperous Timor Leste when I revisit in 10 years.
The best hotel in Timor Leste. Central location, right on top of the Timor Plaza. Staff are very professional. Nice place to stay to explore Timor Leste.
