Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyConsidering this hotel offers the lowest prices on all of Djerba you can't expect five star amenities. I still think some points should be improved, such as: Water pressure for the hot water was really, really low, more of a trickle. I had a room with three beds, the single bed was OK, the double bed's mattress was so worn, though, that I couldn't have possibly slept on it. It was like a hammock with springs. Also one of the pillows had a very bad smell to it. General cleanliness wasn't great (not horrible either) but the rug in the room was absolutely filthy. It was probably 50 years old and had never been washed ... It is also not a good place for light sleepers. There is quite some noise pollution from the outside and inside and it is directly under the entry lane for the airport. Another problem are the many cats. Some places smell badly of cat urine. Watch out to not leave the door to the room open or the cats will come in!
Convenient location next to the souq. Shops, restaurants and plenty of cheap taxis just outside the door. Very friendly staff. Cute, traditional building.

FranceThe toilets need to be cleaned a little bit more frequently. The room was a bit claustrophobic, and overall the rooms need to be refurbished, they're very old.
Location was brilliant. It's right next to the Medina and there's a very good ice cream shop nearby called Djerba Ice. Many restaurants in the neighborhood and the louages stop is around 5 to 6 mins by walking. Staff is friendly too.

United KingdomThe location is extremely convenient for exploring Homt Souk (and Djerba in general), situated right next to the main market and within walking distance of the louage station. While the rooms are basic and perhaps in need of a lick of paint, they are perfectly comfy, relatively spacious and equipped with plug sockets and a hot shower, making it pretty good value for money at their prices

BelgiumThe bedroom is very small and the bathroom, toilet and showers are very old. But for this low budget price, we will not complain.
The location is perfect. Many restaurants, souks for shopping,...everything in the Medina of Houmt Souk. The owner is very friendly and helpful. They arranged a taxi to bring us to the airport.

AustraliaThere was nothing to like about this property except the location and it would be better operated as a cheap hostel for less discerning guests
Unfortunately we arrived late at night as we were profoundly dissappointed with the state of the accommdation and facilities. When we were shown to the room the bannister on the stairs was unsafe and the walkway 'decorated' with mens underwear washing. We were initially shown to a small cramped room with no air conditioning until it was realised we had booked the"family" room. This was occupied by 3 single beds and a double bed all of which occupied most of the floor space leaving no room for two suitcases. The toilet facilities were off the walkway outside the room and were absolutely filthy and obviously used by men. They were certainly not suitable for a female. We investigated alternative possibilities but unfortunately it was to late at night and so we were forced to stay that night. My daughter spent most of the night sitting on the stairs because the bed sheets did not look clean. The following morning we arranged alternative accommodation and after considerable argument with the management who wanted payment for the whole booking we paid for the one night and left.

TunisiaWe had to pay for two rooms as we weren’t married, but they said we can sleep in the same room. This defeats the whole purpose of their goal. We also didn’t get a heads-ups that we will have to pay double even though I entered all the information prior to our stay on booking.com
Architecture was beautiful.
