Internet was not working upstairs. I could use the WIFI only at the reception. Also put extra effort on cleaning and everything will be perfect

Hotel is in walking distance to center. Hotel has come to age, no repairs done. Personnel is inattentive and not much caring about guests. Airport transfer worked well.

The bed was really hard, the middle at the bottom seemed as though it was broken or sunken in. Photos of the room make the room look high end but are actually really old and the place has an old feeling to it.

The property had everything you needed, aircon, tv, etc Breakfast was good.

The courtesy room was dirty. although the bed was neatly made. The room needed to be cleaned up and the window needed to be opened before we arrived. Unfortunately the beddings weren't clean either. The floor was greasy and slippery from the moist of the sun's heat esp with windows and door closed. No shampoo, no soap, not enough flannels in the bathroom. The room will be more beautiful if painted.... The bathroom needs revamping properly. With the price of the View room, there should be two flannels for two customers instead of one. Ideally, some free coffee and tea and milk and cups and cutleries should be available. Kitchen dining table covers need to be binned. I was there many years ago, the covers are still the same. now :)

Staffs honesty, friendlyness and good hospitality. The view room was reasonably clean. Hot water was great. Bed was neatly clean and made. Having a courtesy room while the broken sliding door in my intended room was being fixed was also good. Nice to have free breakfast. Overall, ok

I arranged for an airport pickup through the hotel for a late night arrival (about 1am), but when we landed, the guy was nowhere to be found and hadn't been seen that evening, despite me confirming the night before - the hotel seemed pretty indifferent to that when I told them later, and never apologised. Luckily I was able to share a taxi with some backpackers. When I finally got there about 3am, the security guard was snoring on the couch in the foyer, but my key was there on the counter to collect so all good. I struggled down for breakfast the next morning with reception telling me was on until 9:30, but when I got there just after 9, they had finished serving - after I grumped about that, they took pity and cooked me some toast. The Internet was painfully slow, there is no phone in the room, and there were other pretty average things about the room, but.... this is Tonga, not Sydney, and you have to moderate your expectations!

Emerald Hotel is a well located business hotel near the main drag and waterfront. The rooms are reasonable and spacious.
