Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

GermanyTo start my Tobago-Trip I had booked a room with garden view for 95 USD/night for 5 nights, which is not cheap for Buccoo. However, there was no garden, but only the view of construction debris. Accordingly, my disappointment was also great, because I had spent extra a more money to have it nice. When I mentioned to the owner that it was not what I expected he just said "We don't sell dreams. That's caribbean." On top of that, when I arrived I paid 3,560 TTD for 5 nights at a rate of 1 USD = 7.5 TTD. Afterwards I found out that the usual exchange rate on the island is 1 USD = 7.0 TTD :( On my complaint to booking.com about the non-existent garden, the owner then even claimed that I left without paying!!! And this although he even drove me to the ATM on the evening of my arrival, since his guidelines are "Pay on Arrival". Fortunately, I have been to other cities and other accommodations afterwards and have had quite good experiences, so I will have fond memories of Tobago.
The room was as indicated in the photos. Everything was clean and worked well. However, there was no closet or too little storage for clothes, etc.

Trinidad and TobagoWe never got the see the room that was sent to us, which was paid for. Didnt like the timing when we were asked for the balance payment. Didnt like the fact that we were told Deposit $100 US and then we were asked to pay 50% of the property cost as a form of deposit.
The owner was very accommodating and pleasant.

The Boat tour was amazing. Breath taking at night. I have see tobago in many different ways. Never at night on the sea before.
