Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaSome tower hangers will be nice.
The hotel is in the 北投 thermal bathing area, about 10 minutes' walk from 捷运北投站, Many restaurants and shops are nearby. The breakfasts were good, probably better during weekends (there were buffets during weekend while we were staying, guess), for other days, they will provide a set of dishes, which is still nice. The in-room thermal bath is amazing.

CanadaNothing to say.
We stayed at the hotel one night before dropping our rental car at Taipei Airport. The room was small but well-designed. Reception at the front desk was excellent, and they physically showed us where the car parking was. The beakfeast was also very good, and we appreciated the in-room bath. We found a lot of opportunities for eating in a major street nearby.

GermanyThe "garden view" window was behind the bath tub and wasn't transparent - so not really a view...
Super nice staff, great Chinese style breakfast (no buffet), fruit in the room, very central, very clean, great to soak in our own hot spring bath tub, bed very comfortable!

TaiwanI think that their hot spring water is pretty diluted? The water has practically no smell, and my skin didn't feel as soft as it would normally after soaking in a Beitou hot spring. Also, be prepared to climb up a long set of stairs if you're coming from Xinbeitou station, which might be a bit tricky if you're coming with luggage like I was.
The hotel room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom is very spacious, and the hot spring tub is very big.

TaiwanThe commute from the MRT station is a bit of a hike, which is harder due to rain.
I like the room atmosphere. The breakfast was nice, but I feel bloated, since the breakfast is quite heavy (9 dish course).

AustraliaWhen we first arrived, there were no towels in the room, and we needed to request some brought to the room. This was disappointing, as when there are gaps in attention to detail, you wonder what else has been missed, or what shortcuts have been taken. The hot water for the shower took a very long time to heat up, to the point we thought it was broken. Later, when showering after soaking in the hot spring, the hose attachment to the shower head disintegrated and broke off. While the shower head was new, the hose connecting it to the wall was very brittle, and likely old. We reported this to the receptionist, who sent up a worker to come and install a new shower hose while we sat on the bed in our pyjamas. We did not even receive an apology from the receptionist for the inconvenience! If you want to go to a hot spring hotel, please do not come here. It is very disappointing and not worth your time or money.

SingaporeI stored my luggage at the reception after checking out - I was surprised the staff didn't provide a collection tag or verify my identity upon collection. It was also a pretty steep (but short) climb to the hotel from the train station.
The service by the staff is exceptional - the best I have experienced so far. Thank you for the free room upgrade! The upgraded room is so spacious and comes with multiple features - safety deposit box, mini fridge with drinks, fruit bowl etc. The staff even replenished the drinks, fruit and amenities after cleaning my room on Day 2. There is a 7/11 opposite the hotel and a coin laundry along the same street.
