Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThat hot water is metered, and upon request, especially it cuts off at 11, so for those travelers who are night owls can’t enjoy the hot spring, which kinda defeats the purpose.
Real hot spring water, walking distance from bus station to the place. Dinner and breakfast are included. Helpful staffs.

SingaporeThe receptionist at check in appeared rather impatient and unwelcoming. There was a similar poor attitude with the waitress during dinner. Maybe this hotel had not been treating their frontline staff well enough?
The room was nice and romantic. Our dinner of vegetarian hot pot was enjoyed alfresco with a view of the Wulai river and forests. Breakfast was good and the freshly brewed coffee was unexpectedly great!

MalaysiaThere are a few steps to climb up and down to enter the room which is not so convenient for elderly with weak legs.
The hotel is located nearby the Wulai Old Street and not far away from the bus terminal. It was convenient to have half-board included because almost all restaurants closed after evening.

SingaporeThe entrance of the hotel, it was like a deserted place. I thought I've got cheated until I saw a notice on the signboard asking guest to proceed to the registration counter at level 5. Also, for dinner hot pot that was included in the room rate, perhaps the chef could try to improve on the dipping sauce. Appreciate the big portion of hot pot served, just disappointed with the dipping sauce.

Singaporethe tub for spring water cant be filled much.. think the plug has a leakage.. water seeped out too fast. otherwise would be nice to soak in the spring water rather than scoop and pour over.
Right at the entrance to Wulai and near family mart. everything is walkable and easy for car to pick up and drop off.

ThailandI could smell smoke, not sure if it was from cigarettes, from public hot spring room and it feel less relaxing. Please provide anything to prevent the smoke and the smell enter this area.
- Good location - Nice staffs - I like the room a lot. It has good ventilation, and natural light permitting. - Hot spring both public and private - Good breakfast and dinner. Plenty of vegetables and we enjoyed so much

VietnamThe dinner is included in the room rate. We ordered the chicken hotpot and did not realised that it is quite oily and fatty. It did not go well with my taste. be considerate with your choice.
The hotel is in the centre of the old town where I just need to walk a few minutes from the bus stop, and then be able to walk to old town streets. The hotel room is wooden-built so I can feel warm and cozy when staying. The room space is big, with built-in hot spring bath tub, viewing to the main river. It was such a great view when taking hot water. The staffs are friendly and supportive, though we have to use Google translate to communicate with them but it is manageable. Breakfast with western style is nice also. I have good stay here. Though I came on Wednesday, look like that the hotel is fully booked so you should plan ahead to make any booking here. It's price worth paying.

SingaporeI would have preferred a firmer pillow and choice of twin beds. Proper mugs instead of paper cups. More hanging racks and hangers for towels and clothes etc. All well fitted and whipped just personal preferences.
Excellent location. Short walk from the bus station and right at the beginning of the old street. There is a convenience store nearby as well. Staff were very detailed in explaining about their property, facilities and also friendly and helpful in giving tips and help with questions about sightseeing in Wulai. The view from the room is fantastic. Full board and meals are great too.

LatviaFirstly, beware that the staff speaks only Chinese! The hotsprings work from 07:00 till 23:00, but when we wanted to use the hotsprings at 21:20, the staff told us that they had already begun closing down the bath as no one had entered until 21:00. We had to wait until morning to use them.
The location is great, we've stayed there 3 times already and there's hardly a more authentic and better accessible place available!

AustriaWe were four people, with one being a vegetarian and one being a vegan. While the hotel itself was great and the food tasted amazing aswell, the choice for food was limited with hotpot being the only item on the dinner-menu. There were four hotpot options, however only 1 was vegetarian / vegan, so if you stay more than one night like we did and you are a vegan prepare to eat the same food multiple times. Also, the breakfast had only two options (western and chinese) and those did not change as well, so this is also limited. While not being great, the highlight of the stay was the amazing village and nature of Wulai and the private hotspring, so these criticisms are simply about the cherry on top for us.
The private Hotspring was great, however quite hot at first until we understood that you need to either let it cool down or mix it with the cold water provided in the smaller tub next to it that you have to turn on separately. Generally, the bathroom was great compared to any other hotel we stayed at in Taiwan. Additionally, the workers all were very kind and helpful.

TaiwanThe thermostats in the rooms were set very warm (27°C) and we couldn't figure out how to lower them/turn them off. Be aware that the public baths are the nude, gender-segregated kind; if you aren't comfortable with that, maybe stick to the individual tubs in the rooms.
The staff were very friendly and helpful. Beds were comfy and the hot spring baths in the rooms were great. Some of the staff also spoke English, though it will be a smoother experience if you have a Mandarin-speaker in your group.
