The "breakfast included" was toast with butter and jam and tea with milk – for the amount of money I paid, I would've liked at least some variety (also there's no option for a vegan breakfast).

The beds were spacious and comfortable, the setup felt really private. The location was great too – close to a small night market and only 10 walking-min away from the station, where the bus to Alishan leaves. I had to do a late check-in which made me quite nervous, but everything worked out perfectly.

If you're 1.86 meters tall, you might bump your head several times of you get the upper bed.

The place was really nice. Its location is really near the train station if you don't really like to walk or take public transport after a long day. The bed was really comfy and also spacious. The bathroom was really clean and had body wash, shampoo, and you could also rent a towel for very cheap. It was also possible to get breakfast which was very western with toast, butter, and jelly. I do recommend to stay to this place.

1. The passcode lock was kinda inconvenient when it comes to emergency situation 2. It says breakfast starts at 6am but we went up to the 5th floor at 6am there was no breakfast yet. Not sure if the time changed or we were supposed to take out the toast ourselves from the fridge.

good location, the staff was kind enough to assist me when I forgot something in the fridge after checking out, she helped to unlock the door. The toilet was clean and bed was comfortable.

The room was near a street that had a rather strong sewage smell.

Location is great. The lounge and dining places are comfy and clean. The toilet and bathrooms are well equipped and kept very clean.

The top beds did not have a roof/ top, so if anyone had their light on it shown in your face. They only had two tiny toilets. You may need to wait to use the toilet.

Everything was key card access. Very safe and secure. The kitchen was great. The bed was comfortable. Very close to the train station. There was key card access for the bathroom.

The bathroom was a little dirty while I was there, and the large shower head needed repairing, but there was nothing major.

Funtime hostel is well-located and really well decorated. The beds were comfortable and the little kitchen/social area upstairs very cosy. Breakfast is very simple though, jam and white bread, tea or coffee.

It is located right next to the transport station, it was very clean and comfortable and enough facilities for all of the guests.

The hostel is in walking distance from the train station and bus station (routes to Alishan). I love their kitchen, you can cook or reheat. You can also enjoy piano in the dinning area. Have a balcony next to the dinning area. Simple breakfast. Rooms are neat and tidy. Provide hook, hangers. Have separate bathroom/toilet for female guest (with lock to provide more security) Easy check in and check out. Just one street far, there are street food stalls and supermarket.

I stayed at a four bed female room and was very fortunate to have the room to myself because there were no other visitors during my stay. I was really impressed by the security measures in place for the female only bathroom/toilet area on my floor (a passcode is needed to access the area), plus it was very clean and spacious. The common pantry area had a large fridge and well equipped kitchen utensils. The bed was really comfy and I was able to sleep really well despite the lack of sound insulation. The level of detail put into the design of the hostel absolutely exceeded my expectations. I also really appreciated the washing machine and laundry area on the roof level that can be accessed for free. Location wise it is very close to the Chiayi train station and it's perfect for commuting to Alishan (阿里山) or nearby tourist attraction sites, as most of the buses go through this area. I would also recommend visitors to check out the Museum of old Taiwan Tiles (臺灣花磚博物館) a few blocks down, as it's currently the only museum in Taiwan dedicated to displaying and preserving such old tiles. All in all it was a great stay and I would highly recommend others to stay at Funtime Hotel if they visit Chiayi. (Also there is a lift, so no need to climb any stairs with your luggage!)

The space of the bed is pretty enough for solo travel but lacks space for 25” luggage. The location is excellent, near the train station and. The walking distance to night market is acceptable. The staff is helpful too.
