Positive, welcoming staff, knowledgeable, interested and helpful. Location just a walk across the square outside Hualien station. Bus to Taroko Gorge leaves from the bus station on the same square. Very convenient. They have free bikes, you can cycle around Hualien in no time. Single room on the 8th floor had a huge bathroom with shower, bunkbed accessible by built stair/wooden levels(!) small window from the bedside towards cityview, room under the bunkbed big enough to place your own bike if you brought one.TV. Lounge/ desk one floor up from street level with lots of windows towards the outside, big space and places to sit alone or mix with others. Simple brakfast toast with cheese and ham. Free coffee and tea. Ramen/ snacks/ drinks for sale. Great place.

Basic in-house breakfast but at least you have one ! Dorms are comfy, you have both space and intimacy. Great place to stay for one or two night. Perfect location in front on the train station

The rooms had a slightly moldy smell but it's not too bad.

It's across the road from railway station. So if you're arriving early/ late you don't have to worry about how to get here. Also the taroko shuttle bus and tours all start very close by, so it's convenient.

Amazing hostel located 2 minutes walk from train station and 2 minutes walk from the shuttle bus that goes direct to Toroko National Park. They offer free bread, jam and tea in the mornings. Can also do DIY laundry for only $40. Rooms are nice and ensuite.

Great place to stop just across the rd from the railway station a 7 11 across the rd . Free tea and coffee , great set up as it has a kitchen you can use , breakfast in the morning is the normal food, but you can cook something different if you have bought it in the shop.

I think it would be better if the hostel obliged the residents to leave their shoes out of the bedroom to avoid unpleasant smell from the shoes and sock and they can only wear sandals inside of the room

The location was really near hualien station (it was only 3 min walk) and very close to the main bus station which have various buses that can take you go around hualien. The room, public kitchen, toilet, and bathroom are really clean and well maintained, the work space was really cozy, and the hostel was so kind to provide free coffee, tea, milk tea, and a decent toast for the breakfast.

I like everything about this hostel.

It's a stone throw distance to Hualien TRA and Bus Station. I stayed here for 2 nights in a double bed private room and it is totally incredible! The toilet comes with a bidet and the hotel provide 50TWD breakfast for restaurant/ 7-11 nearby. They themselves also provide free basic breakfast in the morning. They allow us to borrow extra pillow and the staffs are very accommodative in attending our requests. There are laundry machines (washer and dryer 40TWD each for 40 minutes, 10TWD for detergent). The environment is so clean, proper and awesome. Wish I could stay longer! Forget about other place in Hualien, just stay here if you're travelling alone/pair.

The upper beds in the dorm share a ladder and it's super slippery when you wear socks. I actually fell down once, luckily, I didn't get injured. There is a bathroom in the dorm which I think is not necessary and takes away space. When all beds are occupied, there is not a lot of space.

Located directly at the train/bus station with many scooter rental places around. Curtains covering the bed. Washing machines available. Free coffee and tea. Extra bathrooms on each level.

To improve sustainability, my preference is to see a change from disposable paper plated for breakfast to reusable ones.

As a cyclist, I valued safe storage indoors for my bicycle. The dorm beds had good curtains and were comfortable, and there were well-priced laundry washers and dryers on the top floor. And the location so close to the railway station was perfect for me.
