The bathroom is at the bottom floor, we stayed on the top floor but there's a toilet there.. So it's OK.

It's short walk up the old jiufen street. The staff will give you a pictorial direction to the location if you are directional challenge like me 😊 Like most hostel, it's very compact and depending on the season you travel in. I went in late April.. It's humid and warm.. But the rooms are air conditioned.. So it's great. The owner/staff is very friendly and will help you get around.. We booked a night tour which was very educational 😊 it's after all the shop closed for the day. Recommended for short stay

With many people sharing a dorm room, the toilets get easily dirty and IMO need cleaning often. I stayed two nights, but would recommend just one night in Jiufen.

The location is incredible. You're smack dab in the middle of the old street. The beds were nice and had enough privacy to be comfortable. There aren't dedicated lockers, but the staff was kind enough to sort another locker for me to use while I was there. The communal/shared space was nice to have access to and the rooftop terrace provided a great view of the sound.

The location is amazing, they even have a roof top with an amazing view. The bed was pretty comfortable and there was space to put my belongings. The staff was nice and helpful, they even suggested a place to go for the best view.

Even though we had nothing of value with us, I'd point out that there aren't any lockers for bags/valuables. Travellers are generally out to sightsee and not to steal from others, but if you have something valuable that you're worried about with you, then I would ask the owner if you can store it with him.

The location is brilliant, and we found it quite easily. It's down a few stairs just off the old street, so pretty handy. Loved the view from the roof. The owner is very friendly and welcoming. We arrived way before our check-in time, and nobody was there, BUT there was a code for the WiFi on the door and we were able to call the owner on WhatsApp. He let us in and allowed us to store our bags. I am confident that someone would have been there to greet us at, or slightly before, the scheduled check-in time. The box accommodation is good for a couple of nights exploring the area. Fairly comfortable and charging ports for phones etc. No door to the bunk but there is a curtain, which was fine for us. Shared toilet seemed to be kept clean. People seemed to be conscious of keeping noise down inside the box rooms. Good air con in the room as well!

The location and price are excellent! It’s very clean and the staff are super friendly. This is a great stay for a solo traveler! The roof top is a really good reason to come through.

The room in which I stayed in was a bit thight when everyone was getting up at the same time.

The house is feels really cozy and the staff was amazing. The check-in was easy and they made sure to show me everything. The amenities are good and so is the capsule.

No staff onsite. All by phone/WhatsApp. Which may not be the best if you're not connected. Also some people arriving after midnight still called the manager from the room to get their bed. Assigning the bed by message beforehand may help.

Staying overnight in Juifen is the best idea to avoid crowds. The hostel had a perfect location right next to the old street. Very convenient . Amazing view from the rooftop

There’s no towel provided for free.

I like that there’s private toilets inside the room. There’s free water provided. The place is so clean and the location is amazing. The shower is so strong and there’s good hair dryer provided.

It was difficult for me to find space to put my things in the shower without getting them wet. Also, climbing up the steps to get to the 3rd floor each time was rather tiring and would prefer to have somewhere to lock my things.

Bed was comfortable and owners wear very friendly and welcoming.

A lot of manual work of carrying your luggage up and down, but the owners are nice to help out on this, thank you!

The rooftop is amazing!!! Around 8 mins walk through the old street to get to the hostel, the roads are rocky so your luggage might bounce around a little. Facilities are nice and clean, easy access to the old street, owners were nice and friendly
