Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

DenmarkThe only thing to consider is that there is no elevator and for example we had a 3rd floor room so we had the carry the luggage.
The view was amazing, we had the temple right in front of us. The room was comfortable. The staff was nice and we could go and leave the luggage before the check in time.

Czech RepublicHowever, the plastic covering on the bed under the sheets was noisy and somewhat disrupted the otherwise serene experience.
We had a delightful stay at this hotel, conveniently close to Longshan Temple. The staff was exceptionally friendly, creating a pleasant atmosphere. The overall environment was calm, offering a peaceful retreat.

NetherlandsThe walls seem very thin, there was only one neighbouring room on that floor and for one night we heard there television very loudly. Other nights were very quiet, guess we were just unlucky.
Brilliant location, to the back of the main temple. Close to metro. Good bakery (85°) nearby for takeaway breakfast. Room (delux) had a spectacular view over the temple. Bed was wide enough. Decided to return for end of our holiday.

United StatesDon't expect a lot of "facilities." Maybe not everyone would enjoy lugging furniture up those stairs, but I had no problem with it. Like most budget hotels, room is small and I would have liked a little table in addition to the small desk.
The up-close view of Long Shan Temple was the best feature. It is one of the most important temples in Taiwan, and the dragons and flowers were fun to watch and think about. The tiny hotel, with its entrance off the street, is only one block away from the Blue subway line so it was easy to explore the city. It's a 4th-floor walk-up, with a narrow stairway: people pay good money for that kind of exercise. Lots of privacy. The only person I saw after moving in was a cleaning lady, and I had to seek her out. I made my coffee in the room and ate my fruit. Very quiet. Recently re-furbished with new plumbing, etc.

United KingdomStaff on reception were rarely around. Also worth knowing that the hotel is located next to an unofficial red light district and also sadly an area where lots of homeless people gathered, we felt safe however would flag for any solo travelers to just be weary.
Located next door to Longshan Temple which is definitely worth a visit. Quiet room that was clean and an average size. Our wifi wasn't working but on mentioning to the staff at reception the second time they came and fixed it.

HungaryThere is no receptionist but someone who surveils the place via cameras. Remember to place the "please tidy up my room" sign on the door knob, otherwise your room won't be cleaned. The area is also a red light district, although it is not offensive to the visitor.
Very good location, next to metro, night market and the temple itself. Small but proper room.

United KingdomThey should pay more attention to communal areas
A best place you couldn’t find, sharing a wall with the famous Buddhist temple Longshan. I could see the roof of the pagoda style barely 5 metres away Excellent value for money, £67 for two night. and I had the toilet and a powerful shower all for myself. You can’t find a decent bed in a hostel for that As for the double bed it certainly put me to sleep straightaway the staff are really helpful. I left my luggage behind for another 8 hours with no extra money Couldn’t recommend it enough

United KingdomWiFi wasn't very good.
Good stay overall. Clean and private bathroom and good shower. Bed was a little hard. Room cleaned every 2 days. Location near an MRT station and small night market so very good. We were also able to leave our bags at the hotel while we went to Taichung for 2 nights and they had moved our bags to our new room on our return which was very kind.

NetherlandsThere is no elevator so we had to carry our luggage to the second floor. Also the room we were in was far from soundproof.
The location is unbeatable. We stayed in a room overlooking the roofs of the Lung Shan temple. The view was fabulous. The neighbourhood is quite lively, with plenty of shops and eateries. Ximending is within walking distance. However, the neighbourhood near the hotel is not for those that like fancy, modern places. It is more 'basic'.

United KingdomWifi could be instable.
The room is small but functional and provided with everyhting that you needed (and it reflects the picture on the website). The personnel is very kind and helpfull and ready to help you with everything that you need. There was a small view on part of the longshan temple that was nice to have. The location is superb, close to virtually anything you need and less then 4 minutes from the metro station. Really great price / value relationship.

VietnamThe room is small and the ceiling is very low. If you prefer more comfortable stay maybe should choose more spacious room. Also you can hear some noises from the road.
Good location. Right next to Longshan and also quite close to Ximending area so you can enjoy a lot of activities here. The amenities are sufficient for short stay.

SlovakiaThere are bed bugs EVERYWHERE. When I was complaining about it I got a new room but guess what… more bed bugs!!! They even do not clean properly. Every morning there was someone with a vacuum cleaner but I never saw a clean floor. The rooms are very dusty, moldy, and musky (suppose ffom those bed bugs). If you ever book this hotel check everything. Not just bed sheets but also furniture. I really regret going here…
Very close to the MRT station and Kongshan Temple itself, close to night market and 7-eleven…

HungaryThe room (standard double room) is supertiny, definitely not 15m2 as it was advertised here. It is good for 1 person, but not 2. Wifi was not working in our room. The place is just next to Lungshan Temple, which means you can enjoy the very loud service in the temple at 6:00 AM every morning....
The location is good, close to the metro. Clean room.

AustraliaBedbugs. Was offered another room, which I turned down. I was refunded. Very steep narrow stairs to access rooms. No lift. Staff do not assist with bags. I captured a small bug that was crawling in my bed and took it to staff at front desk. Unsure what course of action, if any, they intended to take. Price too high for poor standard of accommodation. I'm not fussy but I couldn't recommend this place to anyone. .

NetherlandsBrilliant location, right next to the main temple. This time we had a normal room rather than the delux one. View was still nice to the roof of the temple. Not as spectacular as from the delux room, but still nice. Room was cheap. There is no breakfast but there are options nearby (85° has a takeaway bakery plus coffee, Louisa coffee has a western style breakfast).
