The room curtains are translucent so you will be awaken by the sunlight. Not an big issue :)

Hostel was very clean & tidy! The communal area has a retro vibe to it & can tell the owner put in a lot of effort in decorating the place ☺️ the room was very comfortable, with your own lockers and I slept very well every night. Bathroom was well kept, water was powerful & warm. There are free bicycles you can use which is perfect as the hostel was a <10mins ride to the beach and park.

A very well organised hostel. very clean, good location, free bicycles, free laundry, free biscuits, and curtains/outlets/lights on the beds. Nice owner, who answered all my questions. He even changed my sheets without me asking after my 3rd night. The bed is very firm, but I got used to it, and it was a little bit short for me but im 187cm, and could stick my feet through the bottom. Overall, i was very happy there and will go back whenever in hualien.

Free bike to take around. Nearby is the markets (daytime, night, super market...). The location is also convenient to take a few minutes walk to bus station. The room,pantry are very clean. Everything with my stay is very good. Thanks to get to know this place. Will definitely stay again when coming back Taitung.

Host was friendly and free bikes were appreciated, The room was good. The only drawback was the complete lack of atmosphere but that seems quite normal in Taiwan. This is a nice city to visit and the hostel is well located.

The service is really good. Compare to most of the hostel, Footinn is very clean and quiet. Location is absolutely convenient that you can walk or bike(free) around the city.

Conveniently located in downtown Taitung, near restaurants, bus stops, etc. The guy in charge called us in advance to arrange our check-in, and when we arrived, he explained everything very clearly. The facilities are nice. The common area has some vintage style and it has everything you need: couches, TV, fridge, water dispenser, etc. The bunk beds are comfy and clean. The air conditioning and the WiFi work well. Enough toilets on each floor, all of them clean. Overall, good value for money, definitely recommended.

Nice hostel! Free bikes to get around, beds are comfortable, showers and bathroom are quite big and clean. Free laundry! Not that many people around when I was there so it was quiet and I could sleep well. Close to the seaside (5min bike ride) and I saw an amazing sunrise!

The whole stay is nothing but comfortable, cozy, and safe. Really enjoyed the cleanness and quietness even it's a shared dorm. The location of the hostel is near almost everything (beach, transportation station, 鐵花村market, Taitung museum), not to mention the owner also offers bikes. Everything is within a ride. Definitely a good experience for a single traveller (female) in Taitung.

no windows in the room to the outside, no air conditioning except fans, the male bathrooms area on 3rd floor was in an open area with no ceiling cover and felt a bit unsafe and wide open to mosquitos or other pests to come in. there were quite a few mosquitoes in the restrooms. the privacy screens around the bed were not very close tight so a bit of light still gets through

staff was very nice and kind and understanding when I arrived late, they allowed parking my bike inside, room and bathrooms were clean. downstairs lounge was nice though a bit small. it was in a quiet street.

The women's bathroom/shower area could be a little more closed/less open to the stairs.

Everything was great! The bed was comfy, there is a shelf, with a lamp and outlet to charge your phone at the head of your bed, and blinds to pull down around the bed for privacy. Free to wash your laundry. Nice sitting area with tables at the entrance.

There is no major dislike. But there are many small things that add up. Firstly the space between bunk beds to get to the locker is very tight and you can only walk sideways. Secondly, the bed is not long enough - I’m about 181cm which is average height and my feet were hanging out of the bed. The bathrooms dont have hand soap so I dont know how one can clean themselves properly after using the toilet. There are no trash cans in the bathrooms either to dispose of tissues. The bathrooms could be cleaner, especially the shower. It’s not terrible but it could be better. Finally, whilst the host is pleasant, the counter never seems to be manned. It wasn’t a problem for me but could be for other people.

Free amenities such as bicycle and laundry which is convenient for travelers. The location is great as its right in the city centre and next to the night market. The host is friendly and the rooms are clean. He let me check in past check in time which was great.
