Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

A small hotel but has everything that a traveller needs (I.e. in-room washing machine, bath amenities, clean and well maintained facilities). There is a metro station near the hotel, which is quite convenient, but the metro has only one line, it doesn’t go to the major tourist spots. It would be ideal to have a motorbike or car to get around the city.

United StatesThere is no soundproofing. I could everything that happened in the hall including a protracted argument in French. Every person entering or leaving who had a conversation, I heard it.
The room was designed well and there was plenty of room. There was a couch and a desk and chair, and a big comfortable bed. The pillows were exceptional.

Hong KongWe inadvertently double booked our room at Affetto Hostel and therefore ended up paying for it twice. It is difficult to understand why the management did not let us know about the double booking in the same name, and refund us for the room charged that we did not use. There was no Breakfast! The room was mostly clean. Some long black hairs were in the bathroom. The patio where the washing machine was located was very dirty and our feet required washing thoroughly after doing the washing and hanging the washing to dry and retrieving the dried washing. It was great to have a washing machine. On the top floor of the building seemed to have a room/unit without a door and on two nights very loud sounds of gaming and conversation/yelling could be heard at inappropriate times of the early morning. A three legged small table that was in all rooms was very poorly balanced and could not handle heavy or unevenly positioning of things on top of it. There was only 1 chair in the room and two would have been better/comfortable. On at least one day the towels left in the room after cleaning were quite smelly as if not laundered very well. Replacements in the lobby helped. We were two persons in the room but only one key could be issued even after making a request. This meant that we always had to pair up on our return to the hotel to get in or the one with the key had to arrive first - this was very inconvenient.
It was great to have a washing machine. Extra towels, laundry soap, combs, toothbrushes were in the lobby. These were great to make use of. The room was brightly lit and generally clean. It had a good energy about it. The little balcony was a nice touch with the washing machine on it.
