Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandWe staid twice in Mayer Inn. Both rooms has a rather high step at an unusual place. In the first room before the bathroom door, in the second room close to the room entrance. We chose the best offer from Booking. That is possibly the reason that both rooms had no windows.
The location across from Taipei main station is great. When we arrived by taxi at 1:30 am in front of the hotel, the driver called the hotel. A men from the front desk came to pick us up. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable.

East access to Subway as exit Z2 is right in front of the hotel. Very convenient. Mitsukoshi department store is next door. Lots of eateries. Rooms are fine just the carpets are dirty.

SingaporeThe hotel is located on the 5th floor of the building. The lifts serve different floors. It's a bit of inconvenient.
Location is good. Just opposite Taipei Station. Nearby to many eateries and shopping.

United KingdomI booked a room with a window, but the window was tiny and was completely blocked by AC units, but at least I could have some airflow, as I do not like AC that much. As the hotel is in a corporate building the situation with the lifts is a bid tricky. There are 8 lifts, but the depending which floor you stay you can only take specific ones, which take ages to come during the peak times int eh morning and evening and once they come they are packed.
The hotel is very central, right next to Taipei Main Station. It is a bid tricky to find in the first place, as it is inside a corporate building, but the location is great. The rooms are spacious and clean and the beds are nice and firm, which I prefer.

SingaporeThe size of the room is small, but that is quite common among the hotels in Taipei at this price point. The check in time is 5pm which is also later compared to the usual check in time of hotels
Location is very convenient, right in front of an exit of the subway station. Basic amenities are provided as well.

United KingdomI booked a room with a window and the window was very tiny and blocked by air-conditioning units. As the building is shared with other companies the wait for the lifts in the morning and evening is extremely long and once they come they are very full. There are several lifts, but depending on which floor you stay you are limited to specific ones. Unfortunately they have to stairs for use either, which was a bid annoying.
The hotel is a bid tricky to find, as it is inside a corporate building shared with other companies, but super central and next to Taipei Main Station. The room was very spacious and clean. The cleaner that helped me during my stay was absolutely lovely.

United Arab EmiratesNo windows and breakfast options. Carpet needs to be washed as I was having insect bites all over my legs when we checked-out, hope its not bed bugs. Lightings in the lobby could be better as it was very dim.
Location is perfecty situated right in the City Centre and walking distance to tourist attractions in Taipei. Louis from the reception was very helpful when we checked-in at 2am. Fresh towels and water replenishment every day. Bathroom was fancy.

EstoniaThe look and design of the hotel are not very friendly. Endless dark corridors with rows and rows of anonymous doors, rooms without windows. So, it's a mechanism for handling a large volume of tourist traffic. Good for 1-2 nights, but getting claustrophobic after that. Laundry room washing machines only have tiny chinese labels, so it took some time to decrypt how to use them. Washers are quite big, but the dryers for some reason are much smaller, so the next person had to wait for a while to get a chance to use them.
The location is perfect for train travel, as the hotel is located right across the street from Taipei main station where all possible train lines cross. Very easy to get everywhere in town and country. Stairs and elevator in front of the hotel take you down to the large underground mall connected to the train station. The streets behind the hotel are great for walking and full of different options for food and drink. Further down the street, there is a nice peaceful park of Taiwan National Museum. Hotel has a coin-operated laundry room. Many commentators have cursed the hotel's elevators. The system is confusing (some elevators only go to certain floors), but actually, there are plenty of them – another row of elevators is located behind the check-in counter, so no problem getting up and down with your luggage.
