Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaBecause it's in a basement, the rooms are somewhat humide. They have dehumidifier in the general space, but its not enought to fight the humidity. Also, this time I had a room close to the men's bathroom, which made my stay way more noisy than the first time.
The location is really well placed, the staff is really nice, and the private room are pretty ok for an hostel. The place is really clean, they have staff cleaning every day, and the facilities are good.

PhilippinesThe corners and sides of the room is already dilapidated. It's so gross to look at. It looks really dirty.
Location is really good, close to Ximending while Taipei Main Station is walkable. Room was okay but they won't clean everyday if you won't tell them too.

CanadaThe capsule room smelled like the inside of a gyms changing room. The capsule it self wasn't connected to any central air system so you have to let in the smelly air into the capsule or you'll choke from lack of oxygen. The doors of the capsule were hard to operate so tenants will be making quite a lot of noise opening and closing the doors. Also there was no locking mechanism for the doors as well. The sleeping area was in the basement.
The location was good as it's close to the Ximen Mrt and close to other cultural sites to see. They did maintain the facilities everyday and the price can't be beat

HungaryThe capsules cannot be closed from the outside, so you must lock your things away in the storage box. This is not the hostel's fault, but some people are very inconsiderate and disrespectful in terms of making noise, so I would recommend to bring earplugs.
My capsule bed and the common bathroom were quite clean. There was a little bit of smell, but they really pay attention to ventillation so it was nothing unbearable. The bathroom is well equipped and the toilets and showers were clean throughout my stay, I have no complaints at all. There is also a separate storage space for those staying in a capsule.

RussiaThe price is a big disadvantage of this place. Price is purely and simply the key factor for a hostel. Also, the capsules are not like the real ones that you can find in other places: they are more like individual boxes, while in real capsules you can set your own temperature inside, you can lock them, you have more functions. The air-con in the room was way too strong. The lockers are outside the room and fit only for valuables and few more, which is ok, but thing is that there wasn't much space in the room for the big luggage.
The place is quite silent thanks to the fact that it lies in the basement of the building. There is a kitchenette with the basics, that is fridge and microwave, though there are no cutlery and crockery. The location is not bad: a few attractions are in the nearby and for the rest the subway is near.

United StatesIt could've been cleaner. Also, the men's bathroom didn't have any TP. They had a roll hanging on the wall outside the bathroom but the stalls had none. No matter though because, as an experienced traveler in Asia, I brought my own, ha! Still, they really ought stock the bathroom stalls. Oh, and they charge extra for things like slippers (10 NT$) and towels (80 NT$, I think). That's not too cool.
Excellent location. Close to National Museum, Peace Park, and NTU station, just one stop from Taipei Main Station. It's like a dormitory-style capsule hotel. Staff were very friendly.

New ZealandOur room (private room with a bunk bed only) was still very humid/damp feeling sometimes despite having the air conditioning on. The ventilation in the room didn't feel very good. It could be due to the naturally high humidity during the summer seasons, and that our room was on the basement level with no window? Check in time is a bit later than usual - at 4pm. But the late check out time at 12pm the next day makes up for it.
The staff was kind and the location was very central to the bustling area of Ximending. It's close by to Ximen station (5-10min walk) and also the Taipei main Station (15-20min walk) We were able ask for a second room key to use since 2 people (refundable deposit of 200 NTD) Nice late check out at 12pm Able to drop off bags at the reception earlier in the day before check in time, free of charge Good air conditioner Free drinking water refill- hot, warm and ice cold Access to washing machine and dryer (50 NTD for each) Good value for a small private bunk bed room for 2 Bunk beds were very sturdy. Not flimsy at all. The steps were easy to climb for whoever is staying on the top bunk.

MalaysiaRoom was a tad small. Only one room card for the both of us, so when one of us needed the toilet while the other was showering, either hold it until shower is done, or the card has to leave the room while showering. The stairs to get up to the bed was a little narrow too -- kinda dangerous if you're half awake in the middle of the night and need the toilet :P
Approximately 8 minute walk from the XiMen MRT station and XiMenDing, so it was really great! Easy to find too! They had towels, toiletries and slippers for rent, and the facilities were great! There were Gym equipments (but not sure how many people use it as it was in the shared space, and personally, I thought it was weird to be exercising in full view of everybody, but to each their own), a small pantry with water dispenser, shared fridge etc. We had the double bedroom with a ensuite bathroom and sink (no toilet). It was small, but I love the design - I'm a bit of a clean freak--the sleeping area with the bed was on top of the bunk, and below was a small bed-like couch where we could hang and put all our stuff before we wanted to shower and sleep. Amazing water pressure and hot water! There was a hairdryer, an extendable make-up mirror, and TV too, though I didn't use the TV. Staff was great! Though I suspect there'll be some language barrier if I didn't speak Mandarin.
