Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

HungaryIf you speak only English, be prepared for the language barriers. It's not an issue, you just need to be patient and make sure that what you wanted to say was understood well. We were surprised that room service and restaurants were closing early (around 8-9pm) every day. Maybe they were short on staff or lacked guests.
I have to start with an unfortunate event that turned out to be very fortunate for us: we stayed in this hotel at the time of the 7.4 earthquake in early April. The event itself was absolutely scary, but looking back we were very thankful to stay at this place instead of anywhere else. The building was all moving and shaking, but there was no damage at all thanks to the construction of the building. The staff was very nice and helpful at all times. The building is beautiful, including the interior and the room! We absolutely loved the white colours in the room. The room was spacious and equipped with everything, with a nice walk in closet, an office corner and a huge bathroom (we loved the Japanese style toilet :) ). The location is great, there are two shopping malls in a walking distance, with some nice restaurants.

BelgiumThe reception staff is showing an uneducated and partly unfriendly attitude to clients needs (a request for replacing still water with sparkling water in the free minibar took several hours of management treatment before we got a positive answer), the daily free newspaper is not offered to the client on his door unless you explicitly ask for it, and when asking for the shutlle bus to come and pick us up at Jiannan Road station, where we might be a 4 minutes late, the answer was that we did not ask timely (although the driver - which is also the concierge - was available), and that they could not wait 4 minutes! I asked to see the general manager who I - myself a hotel general manager - explained the various issues not worthy of a 5 star hotel, and she was kind and took note of my observations.
The location of the hotel is not the most central in the city, but a programmed hourly shuttle bus from the hotel to the Jiannan Road metro station 500 meters away make up for this somewhat (but beware, you have to reserve well in advance, otherwise the driver will not do the trip !). The hotel construction is marvellous, as are the rooms and the breakfast and the ground floor restaurant.

AustraliaThe bathroom is not well designed for women’s accessories. It needs more storage space for cosmetics and accessories.
The size of the room is bigger than other hotels nearby, it’s quite and clean, the location is very close to shopping center and MTR.

TaiwanWhile checking out, I was given an outstanding balance of the breakfast buffet which I had paid in cash for that morning. It was handled but it took a bit longer than expected and there were no apologies given and it almost made me feel as if I didn’t pay so I felt a bit taken aback. Plus, I was the one who had to ask the maitre de at the front how I had to pay — would it be charged to the room or pay in cash and he told me to pay in cash which I happily did. He should also learn to say “please” instead of “Wait a moment.” It is a bit rude. Other than this experience, overall I had a pleasant stay.
The room was very spacious and it’s one of the most comfortable beds I’ve ever slept in at a hotel. I’m very picky about my pillows because I have neck issues and these did wonders! The hotel’s air filtration system is amazing because it always smelled so nice. The dinner buffet at Palette was very impressive. From scallops to fresh sashimi and everything in between. The breakfast buffet wasn’t as impressive though. I expected ‘more’ - something more comparable to the dinner buffet. Nonetheless, the entire experience was grand.

TaiwanThe bed. It was too soft that my and my husband’s back hurt very much. And honestly, I believe I am that kind of person that can sleep anywhere. However this still didn’t ruin the impression from the hotel, aside from this everything was wonderful!
Everything! The room is very luxurious, clean, spacious. The swimming pool is awesome. Very big thanks to the staff, very professional and attentive. Breakfast was extremely delicious too.

Such a beautiful hotel! From the foyer and its grand staircase to each of the rooms. The rooms in particular are very comfortable. The minibar snacks and fridge drinks are complimentary and restocked daily. The room uses universal power sockets so adapters aren't needed. The lights and automatic blinds are controlled on your bedside. The bathroom is quite nice and has a modern shower head. Grand Mayfull is 10/10 - we loved our stay so much that we extended another few days, would highly recommend and would definitely stay here again!
