Great atmosphere and people here! ❤️ Star mom and Star dad are awesome!! Super welcoming and warm! ❤️ The hostel is super clean and the ambiance is homey. The first floor is an inviting setting for conversations and dialogues. The location is close to the Taitung's train station, which is away from the city center, and scooter rentals are all around. I will definitely come back next time I'm in Taitung.

I usually skip breakfast and so did not have breakfast there. The hosts offered me coffee though. All areas have been kept very clean and tidy. Very special hostel with hosts who are very helpful and informative. All can see that the hosts have been very devoted and put a lot of efforts in running the place.

Ohana hostel is amazing Starmom and Stardad are amazing and so friendly. We really felt part of the family. Besides that the rooms were very comfortable as wel and there was everything we needed. Thank you very much!

The hostel is absolutely beautiful, all furniture is made by the owner himself. He and his wife are wonderful people that make the hostel feel like home. I felt so comfortable with you guys, thank you so much for giving me such a great time! You should definitely come for the great conversation with the owners and the lovely lemon beer and vodka! Highly recommend especially to solo travellers who want to feel at home :)

This is hands down the BEST hostel I have ever stayed at and I have stayed in more than a hundred hostels around the world. Ohana is owned by a lovely and caring family who really takes care of you at the moment you step foot on the property. The warmth and hospitality they offer make you feel like part of their family!🌟 I will definitely come back next time I am in Taiwan

This is by far the best Hostel I've stayed in Taiwan. It is located close to the Main Station. Beds are comfortable and it is very quiet, so you get a very good night sleep. The Hostel is very clean and well organized. The Hosts are lovely and put a lot of thought into that Hostel. 10/10

I didn't 'dislike' it, but my only slight improvement would be curtains on the bed.

Everything! Just like the other reviews say, this place is special. Location is close to the train and bus station (but not the city - indeed, no hostels are. The government changed this apparently). Beds are comfortable, bathrooms are large, refrigerator is stocked with drinks (+ instant noodles) with an honesty system. Towel rental is free, hair dryers in the dorms. But the gem of this hostel is the family that owns it. They're so sweet, and speak good English. From helping plan your days in Taitung, to encouraging group conversations in the common room, ordering food for you - they make this place amazing. I would've stayed in Taitung longer just to stay here if I didn't have my trip planned. My girlfriend wasn't feeling well one day and they checked on her regularly throughout the day. She felt very loved! Wonderful hostel. They have had a journey too: they used to be in Taitung centre, then had to move and build their hostel from scratch. Many of the facilities are actually built by the dad! They have a photobook documenting their story. Very cute.

the hosts were so accommodating and really made it feel like a home. I have so much love for them, and really are great people to spend time with and have good conversations with. I really appreciate the time I spent with them, and are probably one of the main reasons why I would want to come back to Taiwan. 10/10 and would recommend to stay there any day of the week, also a bonus is that it’s so close to the train station so it takes no time to get there! Thank you for being so kind :)

Bring some time if you stay with these lovely couple. The facility is nice, clean and has anything you need. They will make sure that you feel welcome and adopt you right away in their family. The hospitality is truly outstanding! If you need darkness to get some proper sleep, bring a sleeping mask with you.

People are super nice and inclusive. I love how we just chill in the living room, take a shot and share our travel experience. It’s great for people who loves to make friends in their trip. The owner spent a lot of effort to make sure the place is clean and everyone enjoy their stat in ohana!

It's super close to the train station, but not to the beach or city. So location depends on what you want.

This was one of the most welcoming, kind, supportive places I have ever stayed. Before I'd even stepped in the door they'd taken my luggage, cleaned the wheels, offered me a drink. They sat with me for ages while I tried to re-jig my plans. It was really like being invited into someone's home. When they found out I didn't have plans for Lunar New Year evening they invited me to have dinner with their family, alongside some other guests too. I would highly recommend this hostel to anyone for the warmth and kindness alone. It also happens to be extremely clean and has all the basics there.

Staying at Ohana truly was like being invited into a family! Xingba and Xingma have so much care of their guests and have curated an atmosphere to quickly and comfortable build meaningful relationships. We came with very few travel plans and they helped us create an exciting itinerary for our 3 day stay. And each night we were welcomed home with food, drinks, and great conversation☺️ The facilities are also very clean and most of the furniture is handcarved and built by Xingba. can’t wait to come back for a longer stay!
