Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomGreat family run B&B, the house is very clean and cosy in a quiet area surrounded by greenery. Perfect location for exploring Taroko National Park. The owners are very nice, friendly and helpful people. They loaned us bicycles, which we really enjoyed riding around the area. The breakfast was very good and made with fresh ingredients from the farm. The owners also did wine tasting events in the evening, which was a great experience and the wine was delicious.

United StatesNothing Would love to spend more time someday
Amazing hosts and property that they designed. Really helpful and caring. A pleasure to be there. Lots of conversation and fun for our college age kids too. House modern and pristine. Organic breakfast with lettuces, fruits and eggs from their farm. Had wine and brandy from their grapes. Feels rural but is literally a 2 min drive from the train station. We drove but they will pick you up.

SingaporeThe outdoor area tends to have mosquitoes which is common. Just putting on some repellant would help.
The place is only 7-10min walk directly from the Xincheng Taroko Station. What I really love about this location is that it’s situated very near the famous Taroko Gorge, easily accessible by the buses also directly at Xincheng Taroko Station. It’s better than staying at Hualien city which takes a lot more time to get to Taroko Gorge (you’ll get to wake up late or reach earlier staying here). The building is very well designed and looked so clean and cosy. The room was spacious, air-conditioning working well, and especially love the bathroom. The bathroom was spacious and clean, and the shower area was huge! It also had a seating spot for the disabled or lazy people to sit down and shower. The room used a card to power the room, and a separate key to unlock/lock the room. This property is also built upon an organic farming area, so you get to appreciate hen-feeding, cute dogs, and the outdoor area is always beautifully lit at night with a warm glowing atmosphere. You get to have breakfast in the morning as well, personally prepared by the hosts. Since the property has an organic farm, the breakfast you get will all be absolutely fresh & organic, with vegetables and eggs freshly harvested the day itself. The hosts themselves are extremely friendly people and go all out to ensure your stay is as comfortable and satisfactory as possible. They attend to your requests as best possible, serve organic breakfasts, and even host a free alcohol-tasting session every evening between 8:30pm-9:30pm. These alcohol are all house made with ingredients also grown organically on their farm. You get to enjoy house wine, brandy and such. You can also borrow the hosts’ bikes to cycle around the area. Popular spots to cycle to are the Qixing Lake and Manbo Beach, which are perfect places to catch the sunrise of the East! The hosts have also mentioned to us that you can also catch the sunrise on their rooftop!

AustraliaLoved it all
This was a beautiful, clean and new hotel with friendly husband and wife owners. We were picked up and dropped off and they made great recommendations. It was 15 minutes from Taroko gorge so very convenient. The hotel itself had big beautiful windows overlooking the mountains, comfortable beds and good aircon. The bathrooms were clean and very modern. It is the best place I’ve been to in a long time and will recommend it to anyone. Breakfast was delicious too and we did wine tasting and cocktail tasting with the wine they make themselves.
