Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Everything - the location, the hosts, the facilities and the service. Boya and Lisa are naturally hospitable hosts and their knowledge of the area makes them a great source of information. They looked after me really well and made my stay a very pleasant one. 5/5

GermanyLisa and Boya won my heart in a second. Lisa already contacted me before and were so patient with all my questions. As I had no car, they picked me up at the train station and also organized a driver for my next station. I enjoyed hanging around with them, listening to their love story and enjoyed the quietness of the property. Every morning I took a walk on the beach. Their breakfast is lovely and made with so much love for detail. Taroko is super near, you can walk 1km to bus station that brings you to the entrance of Taroko. One day Boya drove me, I made clear it is not necessary but he just said „I am here and have time“ - he is originally from Taroko tribe and knows the history very well. Come here and allow yourself to seek in their kindness and peace - and give it back equally.

United KingdomNothing at all! This stay was perfect.
The B&B is in the perfect location. It’s surrounded by 700 coffee trees and lush green mountains. There are flowers and all sorts of plants growing in the garden, and plenty of seating to enjoy the tranquility. The rooms are spacious and there is a great communal area where you are served homemade coffee and also get to meet other guests.

SpainNothing really.
I don’t think there are enough words to describe our experience at George Coffee Homestay. It’s a beautiful location in the heart of Taroko, perfect if you want to go visit the national park. The hosts are just the most welcoming and warmest people I’ve ever met. They make you feel like home right away and truly go the extra mile to make sure you having a great time by recommending places to eat, trails, and things to visit. They were so kind and though this was not part of their responsibility, they’ve taken time to introduce us to the town, culture of Taroko people, history, traditions and a little bit of their beautiful and unique family story. We finished the night by making our own lucky bracelets which I personally loved and the highlight of the night was them playing a song that Boya wrote to Lisa about their love story. The room is super nice and big, cozy and very clean. The breakfast was delicious every morning and the best part if of course drinking their own coffee. If you’re looking for a place in Taroko, you don’t want to miss out on George Homestay! :)

If you are visiting Taroko, you really must stay here! Lisa and Boya are two of the kindest people I’ve ever met. Once we arrived, Boya gave us a list of great local places for dinner, then he gave us a night tour of the nearby Taroko Indigenous village where he grew up and told us about Taroko culture and history. Lisa showed us how to make bracelets from local seeds then they played music and sang songs that Boya wrote about their love story. Breakfast was wonderful both days, and they served us amazing coffee that they grew on their farm! They also helped us get permits for Zhuilu old trail, which you have to do over a month in advance. The location of the guesthouse is very close to the national park.

AustraliaThis is the best place we've stayed on our backpacking trip - no doubt. Boya and Lisa are so kind and hospitable. Boya collected us from the train station and helped us with transport every single day, as we didn't have a car or scooter. He let us use some bikes on his property (very old and rusty - only useable for short leisure rides around the farms). Their coffee and breakfast are wonderful, we were spoiled. The rooms are very comfy and clean, and the property is beautiful to walk around, sit down and meditate/write/draw. The best part was the hosts sharing their lives with us. The culture, craft, music and stories were beautiful to hear about and participate in. Do yourselves a favour and book this experience :)

BelgiumLisa and Boya are the nicest people I have ever met in a home stay. Because the hotel is a bit out of town, Boya brings his guests to a restaurant and picks them up again after dinner. I was there with my (adult) daughter and there were 2 other couples. The first night, Boya took all of us for a small trip to explain the taroko people and their culture. After that, Lisa organised a little DIY bracelet making, all free of charge. If you want to go to the Taroko Gorge or Qingshui cliffs, then the location is great, and much closer than Hualien City.
