The restaurant on site is awful. Luckily there are many other much better options in walking distance.

Everything was pretty well. Lovely spacious rooms with A/C. Nice clean beach is just 20m away.

We stayed at S3 for 3 Nights. Fridge and Air Conditioner Leaked. Flooded the room. Reception was informed and Housekeeping was sent. Mopped up. Problem, room flooded again. I fell. Injured my knee.

The room was okay but the bathroom could be improved to smell nicer and look more appealing also.

The hotel was right by the beach, so it made it super to go from the beach to the swimming pool. However be careful with the tides as the block the ways from beach to beach very easily! also the restaurant was not expensive and happy hour is a really good deal (-50%!) in general I think it’s good value for not a lot of money!

Although I enjoyed my stay, 2 weeks, some things are very poor and need addressing urgently. No way a 3* as advertised on 'Booking.com' and 'TripAdvisor'; 1) WiFi issues, really bad signal, BUT major issue with the TV in the advertisement photos of the seaview rooms, but apparently had been removed but no new photos updated, and in the Q and A section said TVs were in seaview rooms! Very poor so partially refunded me as 'not as described'. Needs correcting on 'Booking.com' immediately. As a scuba diving base, it would have been nice as advertised, able to relax and watch a bit of TV at night if wanted to. Although the view from the balcony was lovely, it's the CHOICE of having a TV to watch if I wanted to, and had paid for, that was promised on 'Booking.com', that mattered. 2) Restaurant was very slow, an hour to acknowledge we were there and had to ask for the menu!! Terrible service, and crazy system of having to order and pay for drinks separately from food (???) Seriously need to train up staff adequately, as currently no way 3* as advertised. 3) Pool was filthy and doubt filtered, or chemical treated properly. Being a scuba diver, I reported issues to management immediately as a serious health issue potentially. Noticed resolved next day!!! 4) Very disconcerting that there's a main thoroughfare walkway straight through the centre of the complex, otherwise gated and walled with a security guard on the opposite side of the complex (what's the point!!??), from one side of the beach through to the next hotel and beach, so constant strangers and non residents hanging around all the time! 5) As a Caucasian woman, was hassled, and constantly being tried to be 'hussled' too, even with my boyfriend!!!

Location was perfect, had seafront room with balcony overlooking gorgeous sunsets. Basic facilities, but adequate as a base for exploring Zanzibar and scuba diving. Excellent price for what you got. Pretty gardens and general layout nice. Would return if the negatives are addressed by 'Oceanhotels' chain. If you want very, very cheap and cheerful then good value. Fantastic weather in March, very hot and sunny, SPF 50 advised!!!

When I made my booking I requested a quiet. room. The room they gave me looked ok, but it over looked the entrance gate and car park. I requested a room away from the car park and they gave me a pool facing room which was much better. Thank you.🙂 However, although I did not hear any mosquitoes in the room, and the bed had an adequate net, by the second day I was covered in red spots. So something was feasting on me.

You cannot fault the setting, especially the dining / bar area which faces the sea. The pool was also fine, and the restaurant food was quite tasty and reasonably priced. I did not pay for the breakfast on the basis of other reviews I had read.

The breakfast menu needs updating, who wants salad or vegetables for breakfast? Sausage, bacon, and beans should be on every day, not just some days. They should do boiled eggs and put them out so you are not in a line waiting for fried eggs. Just up the beach, there was a much better menu for the same price of $10 for breakfast and if i had found this on my first morning, i would have used it every day.

The whole of my stay here was like paradise except for having $60 dollars stolen from the safe.

The AC in my room broke down around 8pm. Weak WiFi, poor signal. Four ants falling from the mosquito net. The balcony isn't really private. You can see your neighbour sitting out there. There's only a one-metre tall fence between the two balconies. And when your neighbor smokes, you're the first one to know.

The staff were not attentive and took too long to take orders. It was not a busy restaurant but the staff still took time to wait on you. The other thing I missed was not having a TV in the room, which was a disappointment.

Hotel room with sea view was excellent. Shower was not working initially but was soon resolved.

The reception staff was quite rude. We had a small argument with him and instead of trying to reason with us he told us to cancel our booking and go to some other hotel if we wished. We were very shocked to hear this kind of comment from a reception staff. We have been going to Amaan for quite some time now and have never faced this kind of behaviour from the reception staff. Now we will have second thoughts about going to Amaan Bungalows now.

The room was good and so also the facilities. The pool was also good. We met the owner who was very pleasant.

Mattress was too hard Lot's of "handlers" at the beach hunting for tourists, careful not to get extorted, most things are actually cheaper after research
