Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

BrazilThe discription says beachfront, and I dont believe it's correct. They dont have a structure of sunbeds in the sand, front to the sea. It's very close though.
Staff is great! Always very helpful and smiley. The place is very clean, pool is great, restaurant is great, good breakfast and good location.

RomaniaThe place is nice and close to the beach and main attraction in Nungwi. The staff is sooo friendly and willing to help, we loved that! The sun beds around the pool are very comfortable. They have 3 restaurants with different cuisines, 2 of them in front of the sea. George was definitely our favorite from the staff. We met him at the Asian restaurant on the beach and instantly connected (well, he is indeed the “Connecter”, as he introduced himself!) made us feel like home. He was really fun

United KingdomIt is noisy until late so not the place if you are looking for peace and tranquility. Many people on the beach hassling you trying you sell things all the time (although they don’t come into the hotel and this isn’t the properties fault) but just a warning as it gets very annoying and caused us to not bother going on the beach. We had also been warned about beach boys trying to sell a trip and taking a deposit and then never to be seen again - don’t fall into that trap if they ask for a deposit don’t go with them stick to the proper companies. We did an excellent boat trip with snorkelling and dolphin swimming with someone the hotel recommended and it was very reasonable price. We went for the cheaper room which is a bit outdated and ventilation in bathroom not amazing, definitely go for the slightly more expensive rooms which are more up to date. Constant power cuts but this seems to be an issue all over zanzibar so again not necessarily the hotels fault. Unfortunately, we heard the owner speak very poorly to staff on multiple occasions, once in the restaurant- which seemed completely uncalled for and another time from our room my wife heard him speak and shout in a very threatening manner to another member of staff. It was very upsetting and she actually brought this up to him saying she had heard what he said and found it concerning, only to be met with hostility and rudeness. She was told that this is how Africa is and if he didn’t do that the standards would drop and she should try and run a business in Zanzibar, she was quite shaken up by this and when he returned and I went to join the conversation he change his tune and did apologise for her hearing this, however the issue is it shouldn’t happen at all and the staff don’t deserve that treatment. We witnessed them always working hard, being welcoming to all guests and also lovely with the owners small daughter when she was at the property.
The staff are exceptional. They work incredibly hard and long hours, they always manage to have a smile ready and are interested in how your day has been, always checking everything is good. The location was good, right opposite the beach and seconds walk away from a variety of restaurants including their own which were very good. Lively location lots going on and trips on offer.

NorwayThe bungalow had a weird smell of the mold that was hard to get rid of. Event the cltohes smelled after some nights that we had spent there. The guy that works in the evening is less serivce oriented comared with the day shift. I would recommend to address all the issue with the girl that works at the reception. The sellers at the beach are very annoying and there are a lot of them, It's really hard to swim in the area since one shares it with motorboats, jet-skis and so on and on.
We got the bungalow that hav lower standards and a little bit old compared to the other facilities. The bungalow had all necessary facilities. They serve the breakfast from the meny and there are some choices that can tempt travelers with different tastes. The owner has also some other restaurants around and it's possible to eat out with somee discount. The place is just 1 minute walk from the beach. This place provides also towels for the area around the swimming pool. One can also enjoy free sunbeds at the Baharat restaurant.

BulgariaBathroom no ventilation and it gets very humid inside. Just a small window. No small refrigerator in the room is the worst that can happen in Zanzibari weather. Very loud music coming from the streets at night but nothing the hotel can do, so not their fault. For breakfast not much options on the menu. Also small buffet with bread and some jelly and coffee.
Staff were very kind and helpful. Very close to the beach.

United KingdomIt's really expensive considering: -it's not actually on the beach, has 2 sister restaurants that are and you can pay for lunch to use the loungers there(not free). Thought this was a bit misleading in the advert -breakfast is yummy and great selection but there is a serious fly problem. -there were constant power cuts and water issues, which they apologised for and were lovely about but for the price it's just not ideal, to not be able to shower -the cleaning service is up and down, sometimes really great, some times not as good, one of the times they left our windows open and our room was full.of mosquitos, another time our door was left unlocked (nothing stolen) -there is something weird with the water that makes your skin go extra wrinkley quickly even now we are home my hands are rough from it
Beautiful, relaxing and serene, perfect place to unwind. Really lovely staff, special shout out to 'the hulk' who does the loungers on the beach, he really went out of his way for everyone. Loved the swings and the gardens! Near a really lovely beach, one of the best beaches we saw in zanzibar. Great breakfast selection with fresh juice Overall we really enjoyed our stay although there were a few things listed below..

Polandthis is more for those who like an informal, relaxed style. Everything is nice, but the mattresses on the loungers or the loungers themselves, chill-out area, the towels are years old. Sometimes, even often, very poor water pressure, it was difficult to wash your hair. 2 appartaments (16&17) border the kitchen, if you are sensitive to noises, you may unfortunately not like it. The property itself is not surrounded by a wall/fence and you have to be prepared for that. The pool is very small and you can smoke everywhere, even swimming in the pool.
exactly as shown in the photos. A few steps from the beach (note the beach is public, landscaped by restaurants and vendors, but if you order something from their restaurant on the beach the sunbeds are free). Beautiful rooms, amazing stone beds, efficient AC, excellent breakfasts with fruit and smoothies, friendly staff, cheapest excursions (nothing to look for on the town), just opposite a lot of local shops, close (even very close) to restauras and still the best belong to Bandolina

KenyaThe "breakfast buffet" turned out to be a slice of bread and chapati :) The neighborhood is very busy with lots of other hotels, restaurants and pubs so if you are looking for some peace and quiet you might be dissapointed.
This is one of the trendiest hotels in Nungwi. It has an eclectic mix of clientele and its location meters from the Nungwi beach is ideal. The neighborhood is interesting and "a lot" is happening. So many people walking about and so much business activity. It is a bit daunting at first but you soon get used to it. The Sushi and Noodle restaurant was my favorite. Food from the Secret Garden restaurant is really scrumptious. I enjoyed the Indian fish curry with coconut rice. The rice tasted like sushi rice, "thick" and absolutely delicious. There are so many activities to do such as shopping, dhow cruises, swimming with turtles, etc.

United KingdomThe showers and the water pressure really needs addressing, especially for the price per night of the king rooms. We stayed in two and in both we really, really struggled to have a shower. The pressure was so bad we couldn’t even do our teeth at 2am when no other guests would have been using it. This really let the stay down unfortunately. If Badolina addressed this issue it would be top marks from us.
We really loved our 3 night honeymoon stay at Badolina. The staff are all great, there’s really good vibe around the pool (amazing music!) and the food at their restaurants (there are 3!) was delicious! The breakfast had such a great variety unlike everywhere else we have stayed and had healthy options too, which was much appreciated. Fantastic location just moments from two lovely little beach with lots of restaurants, bars and shops. Highly recommend going for a dip in the ocean at sunset - It’s such a nice atmosphere with all the locals playing football and jumping off rocks. We would definitely come back!!
