Personal service was great, but management could pay a little more attention to detail. There was no safe in the room, and a dead lightbulb on the veranda was never replaced. Most rooms are dark with little natural light, as noted, perhaps better to the rear, away from the parking lot. I would also suggest that the hotel leave a sign in the bathroom indicating that towels on racks need not be changed daily. And finally a second towel rack of the same type would be helpful.

Absolutely the best aspect of this place is the staff, very professional and friendly. Over the five days we were there, we came to know Josephine and Vincent, running the restaurant, both people who one looks forward to seeing. Food was mostly very good, sometimes excellent. Some delicious curries, and we were happy to see Tanzanian ugale and maharage on the menu. The rooms are OK, but you might want to request a spot to the rear, away from the parking lot and street, possibly with a window providing more natural light. The pool is a great extra. The location is central to several places worth visiting, such as Matureni Falls, if you are interested in more than Kilimanjaro. We would definitely return.

The food was very poor and not tasty. We were told checking in that dinner was included in the booking, when we came to check out we were told that it wasn’t and we needed to pay. After explaining the mix up, the manager wanted us to pick out and directly confront the receptionist who told us dinner was included. Weird and unprofessional experience.

Rooms were very comfortable and well furnished.

The way Booking.com handled this booking is what could have been better - charging a room/bed tax which is fraudulent (and still no satisfactory response from Booking.com)... and posting misleading information. I doubt you care but Chanya Lodge handled everything well.

    Nothing.

It had everything what we needed after our climb on Mount Kilimanjaro. We could have rested there by the swimming pool, we ate a couple of nice meals and also got the laundry service. The enviroment is beautiful and the staff is really nice, they can help you with everything.

The room had no power, both nights we stayed. We had no light, no fan, no electricity to charge our phones. The AC was dropping water all over the room and the water heater didn’t work so we had to take cold showers, unacceptable experience.

Some people of the staff were helpful and the bed was fine.

I returned early from a Kili trip and despite my package including a paid for night later in the week I was made to pay. This is also despite Frank from Intrepid texting me that there would be no charge. I felt robbed which took the shine off something that was good.

They could not charge our stay as it was written on the booking.com, so it made a problem for us as we left some $ on a specific credit card. Also their terminal didn’t work so they insisted we to pay in cash. Eventually they tried to charge the card but informed us about additional fee for card payment. After we insisted that we should not pay anything in addition and that was not agreed, they did not charged us that additional fee and succeeded to charge the stay. But that was not how it was agree via booking.com, nor what we counted on.

Beautiful garden and very friendly staff. It is situated outside Moshi in quite area. Accommodation was very good. it was clean and furniture looks amazing. Wifi was good. Food was also very good. I strongly recommend this hotel.

There was nothing that we did not like. It truly was the best accommodation we have ever had in Moshi. We will not stay any where else.

This property exceeded our expectations. My husband and I felt very at home and absolutely loved the staff. There were many small details that made our stay even better like the electrical outlets in our room that was already universal so we did not need an adapter for our electronics. We love that we did not have to pay for filtered water to drink and that the property was eco-conscious with no plastic bottles, etc. The restaurant was phenomenal with many different options from Asian, to Indian, to Tanzanian food. Everyone was very helpful. We will definitely stay again.
