Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

The owner is amazing! He picked up from the airport and patiently waited for me for more than an hour as the line for visa was so long. He gave me a tour around the house to the river and his coffee farm, as well as the neighborhood, I learnt a lot of things! He also has a simple gym in the yard and I did some workout with him! That was great! The yard is well decorated with lots of plants and beautiful lights at night. His daughters are so adorable! We had a good time!

AustraliaThe property is a bit away from town, so getting food for lunch and dinner was tough, but the banana farm has meals, so I ended up going there on my last night. The shower had no pressure, but I was able to wash my hair in the bath. Overall the experience outweighed any shortcomings
I loved the atmosphere and the owners are very welcoming and friendly. They offered a walk of the banana and coffee plantations in the village, and a walk through the village as part of your stay. That was really cool! The breakfast was plentiful, with variety and tasted great. I met some wonderful people here.

Very peaceful with cute dogs, creative local house with hot water and comfy beds. Breakfast was quite simple but included in the price, so good value for money :) They also brought us fruit and a knife to our room when we asked which was very kind

NetherlandsThe road to the house is bumpy but with a good car or tuctuc no problem. Just communicate with the owner and you will be fine!
Arrival at Jua Home was so nice. The host is very friendly. We heard that the new built guest house would be finished just for us to be the first guests there. The house in the garden was beautiful with a bedroom upstairs and nice private bathroom. Flower petals on our bed made it like a hotel experience. Although the paint was still drying we really liked the place and had a nice stay. Breakfast was simple but sufficient. The house is located a bit our of the city, but a tuctuc driver was bringing us to the city and back. Price and quality are perfect here. Very personal. We would absolutely recommend to others. The banana eco farm is also nearby for tours.

Amazing place to stay! You are surrounded by nature, coffe and banana plants. Staff is great and very kind. In the evening they all gather with guests, staff and friends around a bonfire and it is an amazing moment! I wish I could stay longer because they organise so many activities and you can get involved in the village life

SloveniaIt was very nice, just for someone working, internet is not totally reliable and not available all the time. But it is there ost of the time, so probably this will soon be improved. For shower a pump must be switched on due to water preasure and this can be arranged any time. This js good to know if you need to secure your GB on your sim or if you need full comfort all the time. One of beds was by perfect, the other a bit soft for my needs. But the reason to love the place is the good atmosphere and the village.
The atmosphere of this place is special, calm and friendly. The people of the family, children, garden, places to relax, rabbits and dogs on green grass near bananas, as well as other gravelers, create it. The house with a garden is in a village, less then ten minutes from a river. Walks to the waterfalls are also possible and water is refreshing. The village dived in banana plantations is itself very nice. Preylord has also shown us a coffee making process and was extremely helpful with all our logistic questions and organisation, like transport to the airport, link to safari, visit to hotsprings. Next to delcious breakfast including just picked up bananas and avocado, it is possible to have a tasty dinner including local specialities. Rooms are spacious, decorqted with feeling. Shangarai is a bit out of cantal urban Arusha, the home is 10-15 min walk to main road where you can find local daladala or motorbikes to go to the center. In a village you find basic little shops. If you want a peaceful and interesting stay in loving home in a village and near nature, this is perfect place.

TanzaniaThe owner's wife snapped at me when I asked her which breakfast plate was for me. Fair question as there was a couple sharing the apartment, they had a double breakfast plate waiting for them and I saw no plate with a single serving for me. She could have answered in a civil way. I was only trying to avoid confusion and not eat someone else's breakfast.
Pretty mountain views and access to trails, but every homestay on Mt. Meru has that.

You are staying in a small local family run hostel. The hosts are most friendly and very helpful. If you were looking for a a local experience, this is the place! It’s very close to a beautiful river and lots of small farms. They have two kids and some other kids frequent the place, who are incredibly adorable! The kid called Justin basically guided us all over the place, showing us the most beautiful places we would never have seen without his help. The small kids love playing with the guests and give you a warm welcome every morning. Highly recommended!

TanzaniaI booked a room and chose it on booking.com but when I arrived they ended up putting me in a small room saying that they booked a walk in guest in my room . The room was not clean, had no lock , smell was terrible and as a solo woman I did not feel safe at all in this place . They were also bed bugs and cockroaches around . Properties like this shouldn’t even be allowed to operate with how they handle the customers . Very Poor service. I have shared photos of the room they put me in . Really disappointing

SwitzerlandQuite spontaneously I booked one day before this accommodation for three days. In the end I stayed for two weeks. I fell so in love with the place. The owner Pray and his team made me feel like home. The were so helpful and friendly. Surroundings: The place is beautifully situated in the nature just outside Arusha town. About 1km to the main road. You can take beautiful walks through the banana plantations and the river is close by. Breakfast: Every day I had a tasty breakfast, with fruit and toast, chapatti and fresh milk chai. Transportation: Pray has his own car and offers transportation to the airport or other destinations. Tours: He makes his own tours like to the host springs or the nearby waterfalls through the banana plantations. I highly recommend spending an afternoon at Lake Duluti. Stores: about 250 meters from the accommodation there is a small store woman everything necessary such as soft drinks, snacks or other things can find. On request there was a campfire every evening and it was the best company with the other guests, partly I was also alone but then enjoyed the time for myself. If you are looking for a quiet place in nature surrounded by lovely people, I can only recommend this place. Thanks for everything! I will definitely come again :-)

PolandThe internet issues, because the Internet had to be topped up all the time. It wasn't bothering us, but for somebody who is working online might be. Anyway Praylord said he is going to change it.
Everything we like about this place. It's location, hidden in small village, surrounded by wonderful nature. The idea of making home a cute hostel. Free coffee tour which we really enjoyed. Also the atmosphere, we had interesting conversations with other guests (sometimes even till 3 am, sitting by the 🔥). It's a place You should definitely visit.

TanzaniaExcellent hosts. They also offer free coffee and village tours. We picked coffee from the coffee plant, ground it up, boiled it, and drank it ☕. That's not an experience I thought I would value but I really did. Of course, this is unavailable back home in America. The location is amazing, a good mix between quiet, lush neighborhoods while not being too far from the city. There is a river nearby that offers swimming for the adventurous.
