Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsIt is a bit far from town and other facilities, but if you just need a place to eat, relax and sleep it is perfect!
Nice food and tasty breakfast. Not a big menu but every day a special starter, main dish and dessert. Nice and quiet area. I can imagine this will be a wonderful stop after a safari!

United StatesThe only thing I’d suggest is an adding a sheer curtain on the windows so you can keep your privacy but still let the light in during the day.
The communication with the owner Yann before I arrived was so helpful. He exudes kindness and compassion. I did a last minute booking after my connecting flights were cancelled twice which resulted in spending a surprise day in Rwanda en route from South Africa. I arrived around 5am; no sleep for 72 hours. Yann allowed me to check in so early and at that obscene hour which I was incredibly grateful for. Thank you again, Yann. The place: you’re about a 25 minute drive from town (Arusha), located on a long dirt road. If you’re looking for peace, quiet, and tranquility, you will find it here. It’s a residential area on one side of the road (including Dan Stam), with rolling fields of green on the other as far as you can see of corn, black beans, and other produce. There are a couple schools on the same road. Locals sell their fruit and veg about a 10 minute walk from here: walk down the street toward the main road and make a left where you see a small yellow dwelling with a light blue gate— “Adela’s and Grandchildren Shop.” A bit down this road you will see people selling produce from blankets on the ground. Oh and fyi, there is no working ATM in the area so bring cash but I’d only carry a little with you. I’d also suggest using a crossbody bag. I felt safe here, but it is an impoverished area and foreigners appear to “have money.” So it’s best not to tempt potential thieves to snatch your bag which does happen on occasion. The rooms are spotless, spacious, and with hot showers that don’t run out. They do a beautiful, generous breakfast. The fresh squeezed passion fruit juice was a highlight. The prices for dinner are very reasonable; about the same as in town. You must try the Mtori soup (traditional Tanzanian banana stew). Velvety creamy, rich, and filling. Mmm. And with a side of Mchicha. 😉 Keep in mind friends, if you choose to pay for meals at the hotel with a credit card you will be charged a 5% additional fee.

United StatesNothing. We loved it
The hotel is wonderful. It's far from the city center, but that's what we wanted since we wished to relax before our Kilimanjaro trek. The rooms are beautiful, spacious, clean, and comfortable. The staff is delightful and welcoming. If I ever go back to Arusha, I plan on staying there again. It's a beautiful oasis in a busy town. The food was delicious, especially breakfast.

United KingdomThis hotel / B&B is so lovely. Perfectly located just out of Arusha town and on the road toward Namanga. We stayed here after 7 weeks camping / road tripping through South-East Africa and it was a highlight. The rooms were so clean, cozy and the showers were excellent. Lovely staff and a great breakfast. We would stay here again and again when visiting Arusha. :)

ItalyThe wifi was not working perfectly but that day even the mobile phone data was not working so I think it was more an issue of the internet provider
I usually stay at another place when in Arusha but I read the reviews about comfortable beds and quiet area.. I confirm all of the above! Best sleep I had in months! And the restaurant cooks homemade dinners.

United KingdomThe staff and quality of service was outstanding, they all went above and beyond to ensure my stay met my needs and that I was more than comfortable. I needed to work which involved a few video calls and Yann even got a back up router for me to make sure my calls were smooth which was super kind but the internet was top notch otherwise (very rare for Tanzania!). The meals were absolutely delicious and very fresh, I stayed a few days and was spoiled for choice. My room was very spacious and comfortable, it was set in a lovely garden where there were hummingbirds and it was a very calming and beautiful space to stay. Thank you all for looking after me so well!

United KingdomNothing, was an all round excellent experience
From the airport pick-up till the end of our stay all was perfect. The hotel staff and especially Yann made sure that our stay is unforgettable! We had a chance to learn more about life in Tanzania and Arusha City, as well as a visit to a local brewery. Highlight was my ceremonial wooden club purchase - i'll take it with me everywhere! Rooms are spotless and done with taste. The garden is peaceful and breakfast ultimate satisfaction! WiFi works in rooms well. We also loved a walk alongside a coffee and maze field just outside the hotel. Local villagers are very friendly and loved seeing us around. Highly recommend!
