How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Breakfast was ok, but not a lot to choose from.
Was great for one night stay. Food in the restaurant was delicious. Hotel was under a little renovation but didn't hear anything at night.

The room upgrade to the twin suite was appreciated as the room was large. The hotel was just off the main road so was quiet enough and the was a nice view from the 4th floor of the green mountain. The staff in the restaurant were great. The breakfast was really up to standard and worth it. Definitely value for money especially if you are able to enjoy the outside areas and pool.

We were on the 4th floor without an elevator.
Staff were so supportive in many ways. The restaurant, breakfast and dinner were great! The a/c in our room worked well. View from our room patio. Pool looked good but we didn't use it.

Just a good hotel for 1 night.
Clean and large room! Good wifi. Breakfast was very extensive. Restaurant was good for a simple dinner. Pool was good.

Bathroom was odd and the shower didn’t have any hot water Barking dogs both nights caused us to lose sleep - hours of dogs barking Breakfast was ok

The perfect start to begin a safari! The team at Green Mountain Hotel is super friendly, everyone always has a smile on their face. The rooms are neat and offer plenty of space. Even in their own restaurant, they take the time for a few personal words, which we greatly appreciated! Upon our return from the safari, we even received a complimentary room upgrade. 🙂 Thank you so much, dear Green Mountain team, we had a great time with you.

The hotel provided us a better suite than the one we booked and they didn’t charged us the late check out. The staff was very kind and helpful. I’d recommend the restaurant.

There was some noise from the street even during the night. Could undergo some renovation. The water was cold after 5 min.
The staff was great, very helpful and kind. The room was very spacious. The bed was comfortable and big. Good wifi. Good restaurant and good breakfast.

Nothing really. It would have been nice to walk to local restaurants at night (which we were recommended not to do) but this is not at all the fault of the hotel.
The breakfast was great, the lunch was also lovely. We had just come from a safari and this was the perfect spot to relax afterwards. The front desk staff were really helpful in assisting us with organising waterfall hikes and a SIM card.

Some rooms are 3 star, some are 4. All rooms are clean but some of the bathrooms are getting older. Not a lot of hot water.
Safe and quiet oasis amidst the colour and chaos of Arusha. 20 min walk to city centre, great staff making you feel welcome and teaching some Swahili. Thanks to Haruna, Allen, Musso, Emmanuel, for making me feel so comfortable.

Location was somewhat obscure. Not in a particularly good area, although Arusha in general does not appear to be a high end destination. It's mainly a starting point for safaris.
Hotel was basic but met expectations. Room was a bit barebones but clean. Shower functioned well. Breakfast was adequate - nothing special. For a one night stay in transit it served its purpose. Clean and reasonably priced.

The rooms are nice and clean but walls are thin.
Lovely hotel with pool. Little distance to central arusha but easily reached by boda-boda or tuk-tuk. Really helpful staff and great service for looking after your luggage while your off on safari or similar.
