Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

IndonesiaUnfortunately, the WiFi coverage does not reach the room in the garden far from the lobby/main area. No big deal, though.
An amazing place to relax after Kili and safari. The guy in charge of the hotel (apologies, didn't get his name) was attentive, polite, and resourceful. The breakfast, lunch and dinner were exceptional.

NetherlandsI was unfortunately (almost ) the only guest.
(technical) things that are not oke are repaired quickly. My toilet had a small problem and they gave me another (bigger room immediately. There was a small problem with the cold water supply and the next day the water pipes were dug out and the problem was solved. Apart from that , the staff are really nice and attentive.

NetherlandsThe location turned out to be quite some km from Moshi town, so walking wasn’t an option. The personel however could arrange transport pretty quickly each time.
Really nice personel, always wanting to assist when we had questions. Just a happy comfortable place to stay.

TanzaniaStaff could definitely sold more drink to us, they tended to give too much privacy at mealtimes and as such, we had to go to look for them to reorder drinks.
Food was great, staff helpful and happy. Location was stunning and relaxing, activities were enjoyed. Everything we needed for a relaxing break.

United KingdomThe music at night time could be quite loud and would go on for too long. The service in the restaurant was a bit slow and arriving at breakfast an hour into the slot, would sometimes be disappointed at what was left to offer.
The location was good, the hotel/lodges were clean and tidy, the grounds were colourful, the pool was excellent, rooms were good and with their own cosy outdoor space. Time floated here, just what was needed. Appreciated the stay and would return / recommend.

United Kingdom-
We stayed here one night before hiking Mount Kilimanjaro and two nights when we finished the hike. We would definitely recommend at least a two night rest after the hike! We were a bit ill from the hike so it was an excellent place to rest and recover, the staff would check in on how we were and there is a pharmacy a short walk down the lane too (if required). We really liked how it was quiet, set in a garden (monkeys, birds and tortoises are often around to watch) and a little away from the hustle and bustle of the centre of Moshi- it was a lovely small lodge great for avoiding large big built up hotels. The pool area was kept really clean and tidy with plenty of loungers for all guests. There were plenty of other seating options around too, including private table and chairs by your room. The beds in the room were super comfortable with mosquito nets and a fan that kept you at a good temperature. It was nice to have the communal areas open air with traditional roofed ‘gazebos’. All of the staff were very welcoming and kind. There was an area you can securely leave your main/large bags if needed and there is a laundry service. The food was tasty, with vegetarian options, we tried to burgers, pizzas and evening meals (this was a small menu that they put on a chalk board for you to choose from in advance). The evening meal food is super tasty! The breakfast was just alright, as it was a buffet-style which isn’t how we would prefer it.

NetherlandsOn the first day there was no water at all in the morning, it was fixed later. For the rest there was nothing that we did not like, except but that was not Honey Badger fault, the view on the Kilimanjaro was missing because of clouds.
Fantastic location. The room was very spacious as was the whole area of Honey Badger, the lobby, the pool, the restaurant. We had to leave early and left with a nice breakfast bag, great service. We liked it so much that we booked the place for the return drive as well and we had the same experience again.

Mexicothe activities they offer are expensive and not worth what they cost. i did a one day hikking tour on kilimanjaro and the guide arrived drunk, he could barely walk, i was traveling alone so that made me feel unsafe on the mountain, the manager kindly apologized but they didn't nothing about it or discounted the price of the activity, after tremendous scam
amazing facilities, with turtles and monkeys that live in the hotel and give it an even more rustic touch

We had a lovely time at the pool, watching monkeys run around the trees near the lodge. We also availed of massages at the spa which were amazing.

AustraliaThe hotel offers outside guests use of the pool so it can get a little crowded during the day. The laundry service is also very expensive $1 per item. They also charge a card fee of 5%. Obviously the lodge is quite out of town which was fine for us but if you want to be central, dont stay here. The surrounding villages are also very loud playing music most of the time.
Our room was very large and extremely comfortable, we stayed in a family sized room. The pool and dining area are also lovely and they offer massage services. The menu was extensive and food was nice.
