Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United Arab EmiratesAir conditioning was temperamental but understandable given the general infrastructure of the country.
Location was excellent, loved the Nungwi vibe. Secure, clean, safe property with very attentive staff. Nice pool area for lazy days. Lots of beach front cafes and restaurants nearby for a change of scene. Although the beach club was not in the immediate vicinity of the hotel, it was great to have this facility to get some r&r away from beach vendors.

Czech RepublicQuite a long way to the beach club
The swimming pool just in front of the room. Great dinner. For a surplus of 10 usd you can have a grilled seafood including lobster. Next to the hotel there are nice stables where you can order swimming with horses, which was incredible experience.

GermanyNice rooms, clean, room tidied well everyday, good breakfast, good dinner, close to the beach (less than 5 minute walk), nice pool, good music and drinks, and the staff are very friendly. The beach club is also very good, a little bit further away but you can enjoy a walk around the coast and then stop there to enjoy the sun beds, swimming and drinks and if you are too tied to walk back, the staff at the club will arrange a transport. Overall it’s a really nice place to stay in Nungwi.

CanadaThere was nothing I didn't like . I wish there was a full size mirror in the room.
Room : bright , spacious, clean , safe in the room , fridge , kettle with tea and coffee. Bathroom: toiletries, electric outlets dryer, sufficient towels. Friendly atmosphere: the staff is very friendly, it feels like there'll are my best friends, always great with a warm hello and sometimes with a hug. Most of them Speak Italian ( I don't ) Kiswahili and English. They were very helpful when I got sunburnt. They gave me plenty of Aloe to help me with my skin ( equatorial sun is brutal). I like the food: breakfast was plentiful and good variety. I don't eat carbs so many of the foods didn't fit my requirements and still I didn't lack anything ( well, maybe bacon ) 😋 I have recommended this lodge to my family and friends.

GermanyBeach club is located within 15 minutes walking distance and 8 minutes by car. Hotel provides free taxi service from the hotel to the beach (and back). Kibanda Hotel does not have a direct access to the beach which I think is the only drawback. Other than that, all is great.
Kibanda Lodge is nice hotel with good facilities, amazing service, super-friendly staff and outstanding food in both locations - Hotel and Beach Club. Rooms are very clean. Hotel Manager is supportive and helpful.

United KingdomThe water pressure in the basin and shower was a little bit temperamental and we felt the room would benefit from another mirror in the bedroom itself. Only mirror was in the bathroom. Also no glasses provided for drinking water.
Our room was a very good size for 3 people. Lovely balcony overlooking the pool.

United KingdomHotel advertised trips, taxis etc are very expensive versus market rate. Likewise laundry service charges offered are unrealistic. No mosquito nets fitted (not really an absolute requirement, but would be a good addition).
Great location, just off the beach (3-4mins walk). Pool is a great addition with a nice covered seating area. Rooms have been recently renovated, very new, very clean and very spacious. Staff were friendly and helpful. Inclusive breakfast was very good value, really good selection of fruits, breads and cooked eggs. Found this hotel very good value for money. We had both AC and a fan in the room making it very comfortable. Bathroom was very large, clean and well equipped.

SerbiaWhile we where booking this place, we choosed it because we saw beautiful beach and we thought it was inside of the hotel. However it was far afaway from the hotel, which should not be a problem if the cost of room would be cheaper. But without a direct beach, is not good value for the money. Especialy since the rooms were under average and they didn't spray it against mosquito.
The beautiful pool, and restorant, extremely kind stuff, and the beach part was excellent but it was 2km far from the facility (outside of facility through the "city")

United KingdomNothing although a little snack bar for crisps/treats would have been a good addition. We didn’t eat in the restaurant much apart from breakfast but when we did we thought it was just average.
This is a great little hotel with a nice, good sized pool, pretty setting and lovely staff. The rooms were a good size, beds comfy and cleaned daily. Breakfast was good. The staff were really nice, especially Francesca who was super helpful arranging trips and generally giving us info and assistance. We did the sunset cruise which was great fun and went out with the diving team for a snorkel at Mnembe island where we got to see dolphins. The hotel is a very short walk to the beach and restaurants/bars so is well located. Would definitely recommend it.

NorwayNo mosquito net in our room, but still the AC worked perfectly so no mosquitoes in the room. Still, expected a net over the bed. The driver that took us to the airport was 30 min late. We still made our flight with plenty of time, but a little stressful. Manager tried to hurry it along so might have been a traffic or driver issue.
Nice little hotel where you feel like you are in a tropical garden. Felt very safe in the hotel. Great that they supply beach towels. Super clean rooms. Good food in the restaurant, and portions are good, so we got just starter/main if we were less hungry and it was perfect. We got the package with breakfast and dinner and it was good value for money.
