Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWe were there in the dry season, and though the garden is beautiful and very well tended, as well as full of bird life, unfortunately it also seems to attract a lot of mosquitoes. There is no AC in the rooms which is not a probem at night as there are fans, but it can get a bit hot if you're not in reach of a fan. The place is fairly pricy but staying here supports the mission of the school.
Great little hotel in a very green and luscious old villa a bit outside the center of Moshi. There is a hospitality school on site and a very servicable vegetarian restaurant, also run mostly by the pupils (girls) of the school. The pupils are boarding in a seperate building on the site. If you are lucky there are views of mount Kili from the terrace / restaurant. Apparently the property used to be an orphanage, but it does not show. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. There is a generator for when the power goes out. It's easy to grab a bajaj to the center, if you walk 1 minute from the entrance.

DenmarkThis place is amazing. The food is outstanding and so is the staff. I stayed here multiple times. I had a last minute change of plans the second time I stayed here which meant I never got to stay the night. Even though I used the shower and room they refused to charge me for a night.

SwitzerlandThe restaurant was fantastic! We had an amazing dinner, everything was very very tasty. Even the French fries were sublime. The staff is very friendly and the room very confortable. It's also very noble their mission by providing education to girls in Moshi.

United KingdomThe only thing I didn't like was, that they didn't provide a bottle of water inside the room. And, the one they sold was overpriced and a returnable glass bottle of only one litre, so you cannot take it away with yourself. There was a shop just 5 mins walk away, so I bought a huge bottle for less than half the price from there.
Probably, my best hotel stay so far... what a beautiful paradise like place! Felt like I was in heaven!! The staff are sweet, place is clean and the surroundings are just impeccable. I stayed only a night after my Kili trek and I was in tears when it came to leaving. I really really wish I had a longer stay.

United StatesWe really appreciated that they offered laundry service at a very reasonable price. We also liked that they had a restaurant right inside the hotel with a variety of food. Wifi was strong in the center of the hotel (but not so much in our rooms.) They also were accommodating with our early departure time.

United KingdomThe night guard caused some confusion and did not speak English, and so having a receptionist for late booked check ins would really help.
Excellent and attentive staff, relaxing environment and a really high standard of care. Amazing food, especially the Swahili heritage food. Ideal for female travellers and those working whilst travelling.

CanadaIf you’re a light sleeper, earplugs might be helpful to block the noise from the generator and the neighbours at night.
It was a serene, peaceful garden with a lovely atmosphere. The staff were very kind, particularly Millie, Neema, and Jackie. The food was also tasty. The non-profit side of the place is also fantastic.

TanzaniaUnfortunately, the power cut off and it broke two of my appliances, which I brought from abroad and that is quite expensive and nothing was done about it. They also lost one of my pieces of clothing and once again nothing was done for it.
I liked the site and the garden. It is a very beautiful hotel. Nice place of learning for young adults wanting to work in the industry. The food is also good.

United StatesEveryone was very sweet, but there were communication issues. Remember that this is a training program for young women who are going to be working in the hospitality industry. We had a very early morning flight and when the taxi came, the guard was nowhere to be seen so we were locked in for a while until we could find somebody to track him down to unlock the gate. They wanted to make us a full breakfast which is very sweet, but they were 15 minutes late with it so we had to leave right when it was ready so that we didn't miss our flight! I think having a way to communicate with one of the teachers/managers in charge in case of emergency would be helpful. Otherwise everything was perfect!
Beautiful spot with friendly service and good food. The restaurant menu is extensive, with lots of vegan options and the coffee was excellent. The room was beautiful, as was the whole property, and everybody we interacted with was very sweet!

DenmarkThere was nothing not to be liked.
Our main reason for coming here was the vegan menu at the restaurant, but we really were amazing by the entire property. The food was excellent and diverse, the people working there were very kind and helpful. The room was very stylish and clean. They have an organic garden, so the mint comes fresh in the Mojitos. The staff helped us to book some trips to coffee farms and hikes on Kilimanjaro that was well organized with a wonderful driver and guides.

The garden, the dining and the staff. We stayed in a room located in a smaller building sharing garden with the main (the old house) one. The room was big, with nice bed and a large bathroom.
