Everything about Moyo was perfect! We are a family of 4, with 2 children ages 9 and 12. We spent 7 nights at Moyo for New Year's 2023/2024. We booked a 2 bedroom apartament. It is very cosy and comfortable and shows much of the local tradition. All the furniture and the setting is charming and you can find signs of the local style throughout the apartament, even a traditional style door converted to a living room table. The swimming pool and outdoor area are beautiful and very well taken care of. The pool was cleaned every day and so was the entire apartament, spotless every day. The biggest surprise was the breakfast, served every morning on the terrace. Pancakes and fresh fruit every morning, an absolute Dream. The location is right on the beach. A beautiful White Sandy beach also cleaned and combed every day. The tide is quite intense but that was not a problem since we had the pool also. And the scenery at low tide is beautiful. We Walked a lot up and down the beach and could not find a nicer place. We had lunch and dinner either on the beach at one of the 3 nearby restaurants or we ordered food at the apartament. They all served good food but our favourite was Mzuri, a local restaurant where we ordered food from. Sonia, our host was so helpful And nice about anything we needed and all the day trips and half day trips that they organized for us were perfect, with the help of the local manager, Dan. He even drove my husband to the market when we needed to buy snacks and water for ourselves. It really was the perfect place for our holiday and we couldn't have asked for more. Safety was never an issue, we left all our things in the apartament with the door always open and had no problems. Elizabeth from the massage shop was amazing as well. So thank you again Sonia for a great holiday! What a dream it was and how lucky we were to find your place! We highly recommed it if you are looking for a quiet vacation in the heart of the local community!

Sometimes in the evenings the locals would approach you as a single female and it was a little terrifying for me.

The breakfast was suitable to my dietary needs. The location was fantastic. I loved how the employees were very helpful with information on activities. generally everyone was very friendly/

Something that you will find all over the island: the early morning call to prayer (woke us up but it was short, bring earplugs if you mind the interruption)

Excellent place! Sonia and all her staff were so amazing, kind and helpful with good recommendations. Nothing was ever too much for them. The place they have is nice and quiet, definitely good if you would like to fully relax with a beautiful pool and a beach just around the corner with its own sun beds. If you are wondering to stay here, don’t hesitate as it is definitely worth a visit. So so beautiful! We’ll be back!

The apartment is lovely with beautiful decor. We stayed in the 2 bedroom 2 bathroom which was perfect for our young adult children. There was a kitchen area that we didn’t use but liked having the fridge for cold drinks. The pool was great and location to the beach was steps! Sonia is a wonderful host who helped organize some tours and was around to answer any questions

The coffee in the breakfast was instantaneous but there is a coffee maker and we bought our coffee in a shop nearby. If privacy is your number one priority, then take the upstairs apartment as it is true that in the morning there is a lot of people working around (for us! breakfast, cleaning the pool, doing the laundry) in the afternoon it is calmer… These activities are normal considering the services provided.

It is beautifully decorated and very well equipped. There is a lot of space inside and outside with tables and beds to make yourself comfortable everywhere. The pool has a good size and depth but the weather was strange and it was too cold for us to use it. The service was great, good breakfast, cleaning everyday, good products in the bathroom, as good as any hotel. Great value!

most beautiful villa and apartment ever, tastefully decorated by a European owner (very important in Tanzania, if you like style and comfort). very quiet (compare to best resort villages) location. if you want the beach to yourself and be away from hustle and bustle, this is a place. being in the mud section of the island also gives you an advantage of being an hour away from everywhere you’d like to go and a private island for snorkel is just 10-15 min away.

Spacious and relax atmosphere. This is a beautifull place. Sofia has a very good taste decorate everything. She also arranged our taxi and a day to Mnemba island which is really the so nice to see the blue waters and snorkling. Everything is good working, bathroom, airco and every morning a lovely breakfast at your terrace!!

We stayed at Moyo apartment for 5 nights and had a great experience. Lovely, friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are spacious with great working aircon. Good variety breakfast and a location infront of the beach.

The staff is nice but there were some problems during our stay: - we used the laundry service and some of my white clothes were colored grey even if I gave things that have been washed time and time again together - we used one of the excursions (Mnemba island) and it was really disappointing. First of all, you don’t actually go to the island because it’s private and no one ever tells you that before you go. in the trip, there is snorkelling but it’s crazily crowded and there was almost no fish to see. And normally there is sunbathing on a sandbank but we were there when the tide was too high and had to wait two hours for it to go down which we didn’t… we asked to leave later because of the tide but the hotel staff assured us there was no need and, unfortunately, we didn’t see the sandbank.. so we paid full price for few fish and no sandbank. - the beach part with the sun beds for the hotel is not private at all and there are people coming to sell you things all the time so we couldn’t stay on the beach at all

We booked the two-bedroom apartment which was very comfortable, with air conditioning and two bathrooms. There is a good kitchen area, even if some appliance was a bit too used, it was well functioning. The terrace was great and you get your breakfast on it, so it’s great to feel spoiled:) the pool was shared only between two apartments so it’s almost private.
