Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

CanadaWas a bit out of the way for walking anywhere but taxi was readily available and only 2 km from Moshi.
This boutique hotel was amazing. Probably the cleanest place we’ve ever stayed in. Staff was wonderful and views amazing. Our room was a dream! Food was good and all home cooked meals. Didn’t want to leave. Came here post hike and stayed 4 nights. Great choice. Highly recommended.

Agathe & Claus have already received a lot of enthusiastic, fully deserved feedbacks from the web community for their hospitality and top class professionalism, well trained staff, food, immaculate cleanness of the venue and real luxury it offers in the midst of Tanzanian countryside. Let me ad 2 less obvious upsides: 1. You are free to make walks around the neighborhood to see, unguided and unguarded, the true rural Tanzania with friendly people, interesting landscapes, the real life. 2. For birdwatchers: the area is very productive with partly different set of species than those of Serengeti. The hotel is a natural base for Kilimanjaro hike, however, whichever part of North Tanzania you explore, if your home flight is from JRO (45’ drive) or Arusha (1.45h) you will want to stay for a couple of days at Pink Flamingo to relax after or before your African experience

GermanyWe had a great start for our Tanzania tour at Pink Flamingo Hotel. The hosts, Klaus and Agathe, as well as the other hotel staff are very welcoming, friendly and helpful people that support you in organizing all the activities in and around Moshi. The hotel area and the hotel itself is extremely tasteful furnished and super clean. The kitchen staff prepare fresh and tasteful food for you every day and buy regional products from the food markets of Moshi. We would definitely revisit Pink Flamingo Hotel :-)

My wife and I are in the 100+ Country club. This is as nice a place as we have ever stayed anywhere in the world. The owners Klaus and Agatha are wonderful. The staff are wonderful. We had a big suite which was fantastic. The food is better than fantastic. There is a pool and a spa. Straight shot view of Kilamanjaro. They booked our 2 day tours for us and they were fantastic. You leave a place like this and you are spoiled. Book early the chances of this place having an opening is slim and none. Thanks to all.

United StatesThe only somewhat sad thing for us was that we seemed to run out of hot water while we were trying to fill up the outdoor tub in our room, but we were okay with it! The pool was so beautiful that we just went there instead.
Really beautiful property. Staff was incredibly inviting and warm, breakfast was delicious, room was clean, air-conditioned, and aesthetically pleasing, and property has a borehole for water so you don’t need bottled water for brushing your teeth. There are also two beautiful dogs that live on the property who we loved getting to meet!

United KingdomWe stayed in the Pink Flamingo either side of our Kilimanjaro trek. Agatha and Klaus are wonderful hosts and their team made us feel very welcome. The hotel is a haven of comfort just a short distance from the bustle of Moshi. With comfortable rooms, relaxed settings and excellent home made food, the experience felt more like a homestay than a hotel, which gave a real break from travel. We will definitely stay there again.

Staff were so accomodating to needs and couldn’t do more to help facilitate transport, activities and a very pleasant and relaxed stay. NepalThe property is large and therefore slightly away from the road. While not an issue during the day, finding the entry from the road at night was a little difficult because there are no street lamps.
Property is charming, surrounded by greenery.. The decor is done tastefully with an eye for details.. The hosts Klaus and Agatha are warm and welcoming..
