Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SpainI can’t say anything bad :)
Everything was amazing! The place is very well located, in a quiet zone close to the downtown of Arusha, it was absolutely clean and comfortable. Also the hotel rooms and decoration are cool, as well as the garden zone where you can chill with other guests near the fireplace. Breakfast was also very good (coffee, tea, pancakes, fruit, eggs, etc). They even prepared it for us to take away because we left the last day at early morning. However, the best of all was Anthony, the host. He helped us to book a safari trip, for a very good price and it was so great. Also he helped us with the taxi from JRO airport to the hotel, the transport from Arusha to Dar es Salaam and he even asked a friend to show us Arusha city. Anthony makes you feel comfortable and welcomed in his place. I dare to say that is the best place I have ever booked. I recommend it 100%

PortugalWe (my family and me) recently had the pleasure to stay at Savannah House in Arusha, and it was truly a wonderful experience for 4 nights. Initially, we had booked only one night but we loved it from the first sight and we booked 3 more nights. We loved the decor and layout, really well designed. From the moment of our arriving, the host Tony and his staff greeted us with fresh watermelon juice, they were so welcoming and warm. One of the aspects that impressed us was the emphasis on safety – from the secure entrance to the well-lit common areas (with electric fence) and night security. We felt at ease throughout our stay - the modern and perfectly clean room exceeded our expectations, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment, the beautiful garden with relaxing spaces. Breakfast was exceptional, rich and absolute delight. Tony`s sister culinary skills shone through as she prepared a delicious, healthy and hearty breakfast that left us energized for the day ahead. It is possible to order pizzas, to buy bottle of water and local beer in the hotel. It was a perfect option for us after safari tour or after our daily activities (hiking Kilimanjaro, Hotsprings, Greencoffee tour and Materuni waterfall), so it was not necessary to leave the property. We went out for a dinner in the last evening of our stay in Arusha and visited a good modern private area of restaurant, bar and discotheque to taste nyama choma (local food). It is too close to Savannah House. After safari we asked for Laundry Service and Tony`s sister organized everything for us (for normal price). The staff attention to providing a comfortable environment was evident in every aspect of the guesthouse. That truly made the difference in our stay - really felt like at a home, eternally grateful for their kindness and generosity. Our children adored our stay at Savannah House and we were happy too. We truly enjoyed our stay! I confess that it was the best place that we have stayed in Tanzania mai

United StatesThe kind of establishment that, without being extraordinary, is just exceptional; report unbeatable value for money: comfortable room with large bathroom , lush garden with relaxing spaces, impeccable services. Shops and services nearby (ATM, supermarket, restaurant), and during the night you can enjoy the fire being prepared by masai boy, he's Anthony cousin. Also we book 5 days safari with French speaking guide it was excellent , Anthony is the best.

Tanzania+ Cleaning, room, tranquility, super bed, exceptional breakfast in Tanzania and amazing owners. Honest, good people, nice, always willing to help. I wish we had more time. Easy to get to the center with dala or taxi. The area is great, many great food places and authentic shops. Extra clean, comfortable, amazing bed, breakfast to die for and the best hosts ever.So kind and helpful. Reat area with plenty of food places and bars and many local shops that we loved to visit strolling around. Easy to reach city center with dala dala or taxi, really worth it to stay here instead of center. Only sorry because we couldn't stay longer. Next time!

SwedenIt was an amazing stay from the start to the end. We booked the pick up from the airport to the hotel direct with Anton. Later we booked also the Safari and the climbing to moumt Meru with Anton. He offered us those activities for a very fair price and everything was perfect. We also had to move the dates for the stay for one day without any problems. Anton was very friendly and organized everything for us. He also went with us for dinner, showed us around and helped us with every question we had. We will for ever remember the stay in the Savannah House

United StatesNo nearby good food choices. Pizza at the place was more expensive than the 5-star hotels in Tanzania. This overcharging felt excessive.
Breakfast was big and tasty. Property was small but has a cute character. Good for 1-night stay at Arusha before or after Safari trip where you just want to sleep in the room and prepare for next day.

CanadaThe only negative point was the lack of good lighting in the bathroom. It was difficult to see yourself in the mirror but other than that, there is not much more to say :)
The property and room were really cute and comfortable. The staff is super friendly and the breakfast was amazing! I had lots of dirty laundry after summiting Mount Kilimanjaro. The ladies at Savannah House took it and washed it all by hand for me! They even cleaned my hiking boots, which I was very thankful for :) The property offers pizza delivery and has a small fridge stocked up with water and beers. That pizza delivery is the best thing in the world when you arrive late or are tired and do not fancy going out for dinner anymore! Plus, they were delicious.

AustraliaThe only common areas are outside (which are nice) but can get a bit mosquito-ish after sunset. TIA
A place where you can really tell that the owner cares about the experience. The rooms have been put together with care and attention so that they are unique and cool as well as high quality. The effort that has been put in is obvious. The breakfast is ridiculously enormous and unique. You won't be needing lunch. They offer various safari trips as reasonable prices and will store your bags while on safari. Anthony, the owner, is extremely helpful with advise, tours, and anything else you might need.
