Double bed with tiny sheet. Not big enough for 2 people. So was freezing and had a terrible sleep.

Amazing, such a unique little spot! Couldn't recommend it more! Slow service for food but worth it, just expect to wait as its made to order.

We had in issue with the owner (Karim) because he let the workers get in our room to fix something when we weren't there. We found that out once we were back on the same day. We had all our stuff in the room trusting no one would get in. That was disappointing as we wanted to relax over there. They apologised after it and everything was ok. We just needed to be told in advance because we didn't even know there was a problem with the electricity in our room. The food (which was tasty) used to take one hour or more to be cooked. Patience with that or order before you are hungry. The wifi doesn't work all the time. At night you can hear the music of some pubs nearby.

The room was as beautiful as the place itself. Ana was very kind, willing to help at anytime. You can breathe peace in the accommodation and in the common area, they also put some music in the lounge area to create nice atmosphere. The breakfast was delicious.

Bathroom could do with updating.

Common areas were great. Breakfast was the best. We also ate at the property for the 3 nights we stayed and each meal was amazing, some of the best food we have had in Africa.

The wifi was a bit glitchy but really no big deal!

What an exceptional place to stay! The mud bungalows are beautifully appointed and the open air bathroom is great! The highlight is Nashra’s cooking - certainly don’t need to look for dinner elsewhere! We also enjoyed a couple of day adventures with Queen and Karim which we can highly recommend. Was lovely to meet other travellers in the shared living space and have access to free filtered water and to be encouraged to use reusable bottles. Definitely recommend!

We loved our few days in Moshi staying at the eco Bungalows. It is such a relaxing place in a little bit of paradise in Moshi. The staff were brilliant and genuinely could not have been more helpful. Great outside lounge area too, and the food was excellent.

Unfortunately the region face electricity outages and consequently there is no wifi when it happens.

The installations were very beautiful, full of art and comfortable. They have good dinner options in the menu and they also help with booking of tours and transportation tickets.

It’s a beautiful place set away from the bustle of Moshi but close enough to walk there, or step onto the nearby road and catch a tuktuk. I loved the setting with beautiful public area and lovely chalets set separately from the public area. There is also a bar and a restaurant. And the best part are the beautiful, friendly and helpful people there. We loved our stay there. We even returned after our Kili summit and again after our safari.

The shower water was warm, but not hot!

Karim was an awesome host, he definitely makes it feel like a home. The breakfast and coffee were superb, and the dinner we ordered there was some of the best food we’ve had on our trip. The lounge area was very comfortable and Karim has been very creative repurposing and recycling lots of materials.

This hotel is pretty special!! Karim, the owner is a great person and he made this place super chill and cosy, with great vibes. The rooms are great, and it's fun to have an outdoor bathroom with cats visiting and trying to get attention. Honestly it's a very unique place and you have to come and stay there! Karim ordered food for us when we arrived (late) the first night, it was amazing. And then the breakfasts were so yummy, as well as the dinner we had here the 2nd night. We were feeling so good there, we only visited Moshi town for 4h and decided to come back in this little peaceful and restful oasis where we felt so great. It was exactly what we needed before our Kilimanjaro climb.

This hostel makes you feel at home immediately. It’s basically a garden with a fireplace, a comfy coffee corner and a bar. The bungalows are made of all national materials, dinner is yummy and breakfast just lovely. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

Really comfortable stay with incredibly friendly staff! Good location - quiet at night and walking distance to centre of Moshi. Everyone working at the property made sure I felt safe and included at all times, and looked after my luggage when I’d checked out and wanted to do a day trip. Warm showers, mosquito nets and a really nice breakfast. Felt very safe as a solo female traveller. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay in Moshi.

I had an amazing time at Backyard Hostel Moshi. Extremely kind local staff that will help you out anytime and give you valuable tips. Delicious local foods for breakfast and for dinner. Very welcoming atmosphere and common area in the beautiful garden. I felt comfortable and safe in my room as a solo traveler. I really enjoyed the good vibes and local authentic feeling and am very grateful for my time there. Also the options for trips around Moshi to Kili, Hot springs, waterfalls etc. are amazing.

Karim and his team are simply the best! They made everything possible for us, whether flexible check-in and out times, spontaneous excursions or food requests. The accommodation is also super located and there is love in every detail of the facility. We enjoyed every minute of our stay there and can definitely recommend. We look forward to coming back sometime!

Very nice stay here. We loved their building project and had a really good time in the common areas. John is always there to help with anything you need and his breakfasts are terrific. We met awesome people in here and had peaceful and joyful moments together. Not far away from downtonw but far from busy streets so it's the perfect spot. You'll love it!
