Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesI liked it all! ❤️
Tiophil and Janeth were amazing! They came to pick me up at the bus station and welcomed me with open arms. I felt instantly at home 🏡 They had warm personalities, were lovely to chat with, and their hotel is gorgeous! The whole place is like staying in a mini jungle. They serve great breakfast and bottomless coffee, and the ambiance of the place is fantastic. I was coming from traveling for the last three months, so it was a nice place to lay out and relax for a bit. The staff were kind and on top of things - for example, the original room I was placed in had some issues with the shower head, and they instantly found me a new space and fixed the situation. They had a posse of cute puppies that were just born there, too! 😍 Tiophil helped me get to my airport shuttle on my last day and even allowed me to stay and chill way past my checkout time. When I got to town he showed me a great place to eat and the whole of Moshi knew him! Overall, my stay was lovely, the beds were comfy, and I finally had hot water after weeks of camping and hiking through Kenya and Tanzania. The prices are extremely reasonable, and Tiophil also offers tours around the area. I would def suggest this place if you like good food, friendly vibes, chill music, lush gardens, and a quiet space away from the hustle and bustle of Moshi town. Thanks again, Royal Wonders staff, Janeth, and Tiophil for making my stay homey and absolutely lovely. Can't wait to see you all again real soon!

Really nice relaxing feel to the place with a beautiful garden and great views of kilimanjaro. The room was spacious and great value for the price. United KingdomUpstairs only the 2 large sofas have cushions. The chairs were a bit hard to sit on for a long period and were missing cushions
The place is lovely and we ended up extending our stay. The room is basic (exactly what I expected for the price we paid) , but has a large comfortable bed with a large mosquito net. The shower is very hot, which wasn't the case in other places we stayed. We loved the rooftop terrace where we sat every morning and evening relaxing with views towards Kilimanjaro. The staff in the hotel was very friendly and has helped us to find our way around Moshi. They also helped us to get a large load of washing done for a very reasonable price. All was returned the same evening. A shared TukTuk downtown is only 700 per person and it takes around 25 min to walk the same distance. The nearest supermarket is only 5 min away. If you fancy having a day at a pool, you can simply purchase a day pass in one of the hotels with a pool (the closest one was a 20 min walk away) . There is also a large swimming pool in the YMCA, but the pool is only for swimming and women need to wear a bathing costume.

The stay was great, it was even no problem to extend it for another night. Theo also arranged a trip to the waterfall and a coffee tour for us which was amazing and he was very helpful in general. The room and the bathroom have all necessities and the hot water was working very well and the breakfast was delicious. Looking forward to coming back whenever I am in Moshi :)

Germany.
It's like a community camp for locals and visitors and it makes you feel welcome. Really nice people, good food, great view to the Kilimandscharo from the rooftop. Flexibel they arranged everything to our needs. The rooms are basic, just for sleeping , not really a place for chilling.

JapanI regret to say that I wouldn't visit this hotel again. To put it succinctly, the place feels incredibly claustrophobic. As travelers, our aim is to stay in hotels that serve as gateways to adventure everywhere. However, at this location, it was impossible to use Uber, and no taxis were available either. Regardless of the destination—be it tourist spots, the airport, or bus stations—we had no choice but to rely on the hotel staff, who charged exorbitant fees. A journey that should cost 1000 shillings (about $0.25) was billed at $5, a trip to the waterfall was $50, and reaching the hot springs cost $35, which are steep prices. While I understand that hotels tend to mark up the cost for booking taxis or Uber compared to local rates, the prices here were outrageously high. Attempts to hail a taxi or Uber on my own were fruitlessly redirected to the hotel's taxi service, which was quite frustrating. The food was mediocre, and the rooms lacked hot showers. With no freedom to explore or find more economical transportation options, most guests end up spending their day within the hotel to save money. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this hotel.
Staff is best

TanzaniaDuring our backpacking trip in November 2023 we stayed at Royal Wonders for 6 nights. From the beginning, when we were picked up at the bus stop in Moshi to the very last day, when the owner organised for us to be picked up again, we had a fantastic time. The property is beautiful, the rooms are spacious and the staff are extremely friendly and helpful. When we asked the owner about a day trip to Kilimanjaro he organised a hike for us the very next morning. It’s the perfect place to relax for a few days or to do all kind of day trips and activities in the area (hot springs, waterfalls, karaoke, painting nights, Kilimanjaro, Arusha etc.) What we loved most are the beautiful terrace and the lush gardens. Hopefully we get to come again in the future.

Everything was perfect. The rooms are clean and have enough space to handle the luggage. Bed is comfy and the bathrooms are very nice. Hot water every time and perfect water-pressure. Table and chair for working are also available. We had good WIFI everywhere. The restaurant is upstairs with a nice view to the Kilimanjaro! We relaxed a lot there. The whole area is like a Oase with a lot of plants and banana trees. It’s also very quite. Food was delicious and the breakfast is on point. Very good service and we never wait long. Everybody in this hotel are so friendly and do everything to make your stay comfortable. The owner also helped us to get very good activities for good price and drive us also to the bus station. There a a few restaurants in the near and also two supermarkets. You have to walk maximum 5 minutes. We felt home and extend two times. If we come back to Tanzania we will stay there 100%
