Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwedenTo many hustlers on the beach.
Very nice location, small rooms, a bit on the expensive side. Magic rooftop bar for sunset, good but expensive restaurant. Great breakfast.

FinlandTowels in the room were not so good. Pool towels were bigger and better quality. We wished there had been coolers for cold drinks (beer, Cola, water etc), since they were warm immediately by the pool, in that heat)
Lovely smallish boutique hotel on the beach. We had an ocean view room with amazing views. There were always sunbeds available. Pool was nice. Restaurants served good food. Breakfast was really nice with both buffet and a la carte with several great options to order.

United KingdomThis is probably being pedantic, but the place would look so much better: t's a shame the tiles in the infinity pool were a muddy brown colour, which made the water look dirty and not really in keeping with the beautiful aesthetics rest of the hotel and the colours of the sea. But that's just my opinion.

United Arab EmiratesHakuna matata The service is so so slow… there must be an issue in the organization: a lot of miscommunication. If you’re starving, please anticipate and order one hour before :) There seems to be only 3 waiters at any time of the day. No drinks on the beach / pool before 11 am… even WATER! For the price we pay, I think the service should be faster. Luggages : when we checked in, we got a nice tour of the hotel. We were expecting for the luggages to be delivered in the meantime in the room, as told, We had to wait for 45 extra minutes. We are not blaming at all the staff, as they are receiving specific instructions. The management should review the team’s deployment over the many wonderful services.
The hotel is gorgeous, all the walkways are surrounded by beautiful trees. It is a safe place, with good security. Trust me, you will appreciate their support with all The Beach Boys. Z hotel has the reputation of being one of the most beautiful hotels in Nungwi, therefore it attracts a lot of them. Menu, full of varieties. Could easily spend a week there and keep discovering new dishes. The room was beautiful, spacious and with a big closet (much needed!) The housekeeping team comes twice a day: once in the morning and they come back during dinner time to set the room. The outdoor is just outstanding. View on the beach with a breathtaking sunset. The pool is also great, perfect temperature and amazing view. 3 restaurants at 3 different levels… You can easily keep yourself busy there with yoga classes, gym and a reading room. Special thank you to Belinda, Khalifa and Ali.

United KingdomThe only thing for me that let this hotel down was the rooms. They are beautifully decorated with all the right amenities - safe, kettle, fridge etc. but the bathroom didn’t have AC. This meant it was humid & smelly in there most of the time, we also had to remove all our toiletries from there as they were melting. We booked a Queen room, but it only had a double bed. It was the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept in, my husband bought the seat cushions from our balcony in for us to put on top of the mattress in an attempt to make bearable. We both have incredibly bad backs after staying here for a week! I’m not sure if it was us or the bed, but the mattress did slope in in the middle and you could feel the springs so I guess they are old. There is also only a thin sheet for a duvet. On our last night we asked for a duvet and they bought one (and chocolates!) straight away. I don’t know why we didn’t think of asking for this sooner, but I would recommend the hotel put a thicker duvet in the wardrobes for guests. There is also only a small bottle of water each in the rooms. We asked for more and were told we were not allowed. It meant every day we had to carry large bottles back from the supermarket to our room. I would suggest a water delivery service in the hotel - we would have happily paid extra for this.
We stayed at the Z hotel for Christmas 2023. The hotel is a beautiful boutique retreat. The decor and vibe of this hotel is stunning, and the location is fantastic. It is set right on the beach, with an infinity pool overlooking the beach. It is a public beach, but the hotel has a private area. We loved the fact it was public as there was so much to watch going on but if you want a quiet retreat this isn’t for you! There is also a small market including supermarket and pharmacy next door which was super useful. The food is also really good here. We were quite worried about staying in one place for a week in case we got bored with the food but there are 3 restaurants and an extensive menu. You can also walk down the beach and visit other bars and restaurants. We went on an early safari one morning and the hotel prepared us a take away breakfast which was great. The staff were so kind and friendly. Service was slow across the board but once you accept this and relax into your holiday it’s not a problem! My husband also got sick and we needed a pharmacy, the security guard had us walking 10 minutes into town when there was a pharmacy next door to the hotel.

KenyaThe private beach is a great feature; vendors are pretty aggressive in the public area, so was nice to lay out with being sold things constantly. Sexy fish is definitely worth eating at least once for dinner.

United States“Beach boys” hounding you on the beach area right behind the hotel made it hard to fully enjoy it. Also, the flies at the restaurant are quite unpleasant. I’m not sure the hotel can do much about the last point though.
I loved how friendly and accommodating the staff were. The views are spectacular and the hotel was very clean.

United Arab EmiratesThe mattress in the bedroom wasn’t very comfortable. The beach boys can be quite overwhelming once you step outside the “private area” of the hotel, but that is not something that the hotel can do anything about.
Amazing location with the most beautiful sunset views from the beautiful terrace. The hotel staff are very friendly, the breakfast has a wide variety, and for lunch/dinner you have two different restaurants to chose from. The pool is beautiful and there is a small beach with a few sun beds. They also had a movie screening on Sunday on the beach which was really nice.

South AfricaNothing really, this is a great hotel! Keep however in mind that this is a hotel in the more busy part of Nungwi, and not a remote resort where you can spend all days on your own. It's not noisy or anything, but more FYI. Would definitely stay there again!
Well designed and perfectly located close to everything in Nungwi, with an amazing infinity pool overlooking the beach, ocean and the sunset. Superb breakfast, very friendly and helpful staff, great facilities. We stayed in the most basic room with garden view, but it was great and beautifully decorated. The 'garden' is so lush, so even if you are staying on the ground floor it's private.

KenyaThere is no private beach as described in the advertising- the beach is public , noisy and many people try to persuade you to buy products and activities to an extent sometimes we rather avoids the beach at all. Food was very good - cocktails excellent- but the service was not stable - sometimes we got orders very fast and sometimes they needed reminders .
