Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThis was a great initiate property just a short walk to the beach. Zuzana and Abarack were phenomenal host. Believe the reviews about the jam. It is AMAZING. She helped us set up our airport transfer and Mnemba trip. We’ll definitely stay again when we come back to Zanzibar

MalaysiaNothing we did not like. Thanks again zuzana and barak.
Fantastic and very welcoming small property with a limited number of rooms. A great feel of safety and privacy. A few steps away from the beach. Place is run by very attentive hosts, helpful and I think sincerely caring. Amazing breakfast prepared by the hosts and taken at shared tables by the kitchen. Endless supply of fruits, homemade jams, and many goodies. Feel like being welcome in a private home. Nicely equipped rooms with all that’s needed.

United KingdomMy parents and I had a very nice stay at Zuzanu house, all the staff were very friendly and welcoming, rooms were very nice with lots of character and I loved the fact that we were in the middle of a village so we got to experience how the locals live and 2 mins walk from the beach. Breakfast was very nice and fresh everyday. If you are looking for a personal tour guide I recommend Mulato who is a local, he will plan all your tours before you arrive at a fair price and super friendly, his number is +255 777 325 202 insta @zan_mulato_tours

PortugalThe rooms are very large, spacious and decorated with simplicity and style. There is no shortage of amenities, the pool is small but perfect for the space and anyone staying here will certainly not regret it, as it is an extraordinary experience. Even more extraordinary is the way you are welcomed by the owner, Zuzanu, a charming woman who knows how to host. And of course, Baraka, always with a smile on his face and very helpful. The space is in the middle of the village and you can experience tranquillity and security (only guests have access to the space), without losing the charm of living with local life.

FinlandOur visit to Zuzana's House was excellent. The staff was super friendly and provided great tips. The location was superb, with the beach just a 50-meter walk away. The breakfast was plentiful, and the host made eggs according to our preferences. The rooms were clean, and the air conditioning was a great addition. Definitely worth recommending.

IrelandSuperb value for money. Great location, 2 minute walk to beach, and can pay for day pass too one of beach front hotel if you desire to get all benefits of beach front hotel but pay fraction of overnight prices. 5 min walk to superb cheap restaurant, Local Fish Market, which came highly recommended by host. Breakfast was great and was organised earlier one of the days as we were leaving early (homemade passion fruit jam was delicious). Host very helpful and honest with advice and orgainising/suggesting taxi/tours. Be wary of low tide at nungwi, beach does not look as nice then (another reason not pay large fees to stay at beach front hotels!), much better to walk (or get taxi) to Kendwa beach where tide movements not as severe (day pass for some beach front hotels there quite cheap). Overall would 100% recommend.

CanadaWifi was very spotty from inside the room but worked well on the balcony. Payment is by cash only currently (although I know Zuzana is working on that).
Wonderful stay at Zuzanu House. Zuzana and Barack are perfect hosts. Breakfast is superb! Eggs made to order and lots of bread, spreads and juice. The room is very clean and comfortable; although I did find the bed a bit hard. Lots of plugs in the room. Hot water was plenty. The ceiling fan in the room was very useful. If you're a couple or friends staying together I would suggest you request a room with a bathroom door so there's some privacy there. We had no electricity for a few hours one day but Zuzana provided lamps (the big hotel next door had electricity, so hung out at their bar until the lights were back on). The location is away from the "busy" part of Nungwi, it's right in the locals village but there are also some bars and restaurants nearby. The streets are very dark and unpaved but seemed to be safe enough even at night. If the tide is low, you can walk along the beach instead. Overall, highly recommend Zuzanu House!

Breakfast is impressive. I normally don’t eat breakfast but I eat as much as I can here only because they are so delicious. Fruits are super fresh and they keep all the breads warm for each person which is very considerate. Location is walking distance to the beach and it’s a quieter beach than other main ones so I really like it.

United StatesSpacious room and bathroom with thoughtfully planned shelves and amenities. The large balcony was appreciated and even had a line to dry clothes. Breakfast was wonderful with fruit, eggs cooked to order, local foods and breads. We enjoyed the pool too. This guesthouse felt like home and is ideal if you don’t want to stay in a resort. It’s a short walk to the beach. The owners were so helpful with suggestions and directions. We wished we could stay longer.

United Arab EmiratesWe stayed on the top floor where you can hear all the sounds from outside which is something we are not used to but also had it’s charm. Living in Dubai you are used to airco to sleep with so we had to adjust to not having one. Still managed to sleep oky though!
The great service from Zuzana and her team, from the amazing breakfast with lots of fresh fruits to the help arranging of trips and tips for dinner. Great location to walk to some nice restaurants and beaches.

RomaniaZuzana is a great host, very kind and she helped us with everything. She even allowed us to check in earlier and leave our luggages there after we made the check out. The hotel is new and built in a traditional way. The breakfast was delicios and had a variety of fruits. They also prepared fresh juice every day for us. It is close to the beach: 3-aprox 3 minutes. I would definetly return there. I already miss that breakfast.
