How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

- I felt sick after the dinner - My daughter got some redness on her body after visiting spa - In he morning there was a line to the breakfast - we had to stay in the corridor and were not proposed drinks or any other compliment while waiting. The breakfast / dinner room is definitely too small for this hotel and this number of rooms (and spa as well)

We had a bad smell in our room and they couldn't do anything with it. Some of the staff wasn't friendly.. didn't smile...

Light in my room was terrible! I had to wait until morning to find what I need in my bag. Lamp next to bed was broken, only little light next to table and next to the door worked.

They are mistreating, cheating and underpaying the hotel staff. It's fairly easy to see when a hotel staff is mistreated and cheated by the ownership -- you can always see when a (good, professional) employee is angry on the employer. And I stayed there long enough to state that this is the case with Roxolana (let's see if they would dare to argue). Here's a free tip: treat your staff well and pay them an honest wage. Cause if you don't, they might get angry and do something really bad to you. Or someone else may do it for them;) I also feel like there needs to be a good thorough investigation of how this old building in the city center ended up in the hands of its current ownership. Or maybe there is one already ongoing, who knows;)
It's a nice hotel, but, if you care about the well-being of the staff, I would advise you to choose another accommodation option until this one gets different management and ownership.

During check-in you have to sign a really weird agreement with the hotel. In this agreement is specified a lot of ridiculous things, for example: the hotel is not responsible for security of your property during the stay (e.g. if something will be stolen from your room it's ok); there's no money refund and instead you'll have refund in some internal hotel points (or something similar), which you'll able to spend for future bookings; etc. Pool is extremely cold and a bit dirty. Also, there's no change room in Spa zone as well as no separate entrance in there. So, you basically have to pass hotel's lobby in your bathrobe every time, when you want to visit Spa. There were several other minor issues. For example, you have to order your breakfast in advance. And they have very spicy one in menu, but you don't know that. There's no hints about that (usually there should be "pepper" icon near the dish in menu) and nobody warned us as well. We had to figure this out on our own during the breakfast :) We had the room with terrace, and all the furniture there was wet because of rain. It makes sense to create some cover from the rain on terrace, otherwise terrace has no use during rainy days. We had only one bathroom mirror in the whole room. This is uncomfortable for a bit, when you're dressing to go out. In general hotel looks fancy, but it seems to be too greedy. Guests have to sign weird agreements. There's a weird refund system (we didn't use it, but it was described in the agreement) Water in the pool is too cold. And I can continue this list if needed.
Fancy-looking hotel. Good location. Tasty food in restaurant.

The only thing I would say is that there is not many options for breakfast. It would have been nice to have some more options on egg styles etc
So clean! The staff are so polite and do the upmost to make ur stay comfortable.
