The breakfast is excellent and tasty. The hotel located in the city center so, its neither bad nor good - it depends on people. For us it was ok.

The jacuzzi and pool have way too much chlorine. Restaurant windows could be cleaned for a clearer view. The staff are friendly, but are unable to suggest activities or restaurants, and tell you to visit the verkhovyna life website. And for future visitors, it would be good for more staff to speak English (it wasn’t a problem for me, but could be for non-Ukrainian visitors.)

Verhovena is a well located hotel, with good facilities. Breakfast is very good and large, something for everyone. Rooms are comfortable, beds are comfortable, and enough towels for everyone. The view from the restaurant is also lovely, and tables large enough for large groups. The spa is great, excellent sauna, and options for everyone. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Staff mostly kids either untrained or not paid enought to care, in particular in the restaurant. Either way, a fault of the hotel management. qr codes for menus. Breakfast a buffet one day, then limited menu next. No extra toilet roll in bathroom, light over mirror broken. First two rooms door locks did not work. Rooms very small, although as stated in add. Wifi unreliable, apparently due to rain, but looking at the previous reviews an ongoing issue. Hotel entrace obscured by shops attached to front of building.

The rooms weren't soundproof. The spa is pretty underwhelming: the water in the pool is cold, hamam didn't work and the staff didn't care about it and ignored multiple requests to fix it.

First night that I planned to spend in Verkhovel, they could not settle me in. And I learnt this from them 1 hour before check-in. "Something happened to our booking.com reservations". This happens for the first time with my booking experience. As I understood, they still haven't found the root cause of the problem. However they have booked me a room in another hotel nearby, so I'm fine with that. Restaurant processes could be more efficient and client-friendly (for example, reservation of tables near the window - this process is not transparent at all. They just put "Reserved" plate on any free table)

Wellness is super small, only few beds and few towels. what is called swimming pool its a 2x3 meter "pool", kneipp not working at all, steam is on very economic mode. Beds are not comfy at all. Breakfast is a disaster, they run out of everything all the time and takes like over an hour to replace it... You need to always ask the staff even to bring a spoon!!! No elevator, and noone to help to take the bags up!!! Parking is very small enough for few cars only... Wanted to ask from the woman working at the reception, she was on the phone with her friend, needed to wait 10 min till she finished her private call! Wifi is very weak, almost useless... this is not a 4 star hotel for sure!

There was a lack of closets and dressers / drawers which was a bit strange. The spa was also not quite as advertised. The hours were limited and somewhat strange, and the pool was very cold, too cold for a child to swim in. The selection of local specialties was pretty limited at the restaurant (banosh, vareneky, daruni was about it) which was a bit disappointing. They do not start serving breakfast until 9 which was frustrating. It made it difficult to have breakfast at the hotel before going out for a hike so we ended up skipping the breakfast most days. The a la carte hot breakfast was good, but on the days there was a buffet, much of the hot food was room temperature.

We stayed in the apartment which was large and very nice with great natural lighting. The kitchenette was very adaquette with what we needed in terms of dishes, cutlery, glasses, etc. The refrigerator worked well as well. Regarding the restaurant, it was fine for dinner, if a bit boring. The more "international" dishes we had were good (pork medallions, chicken confit).
