Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

PolandDelicious food and very attentive and helpful staff. The price is very attractive if we take into account that full board is included and we live in the park. Wild animals pass through the lodge, i have seen an elephant passing by when I was eating supper. Perfect place!

Everything! Amazing location, super helpful and friendly staff, fabulous deck from which you can see elephants if you’re lucky! Food was plentiful and good, tent had a mattress so more comfy than expected, warm showers in a clean bathroom block - and I got so close to elephants in the grounds. Sleep to the sound of animals! Amazing.

United KingdomI have got a great winge that this camp shares with others, they did not accept my cash. They quoted a price in dollars, my dollars in $50 & $20 were legal tender in the USA having been issued by an Bank Cash Machine in Alabama. In the end I relented to the stone walling of the manager and paid by a UK Mastercard - the exchange rate was fair ( I pressed the button to pay in US$ ) However I truly believe that there is a major problem that all accom. in Uganda denominates in a non local currency whilst not honouring the legal tender of the currency. Whilst I am not out of pocket I have "dead" dollars until I return to the US
This camp is real good value, the staff are attentive whilst the camp is spread out to allow privacy, the rooms were well protected against mosquitoes, the food was good and the full board package meant that everything was under control, the camp can arrange guide and safari vehicle to tour the park at a competitive cost if you independently travel there. From the restaurant the wifi is reliable and you can observe small birds, a resident elephant moves around the camp.

SwitzerlandDon't take the on ground (most basic) tent!!!!! the zips don't close properly and there is no mosquito net and you are sleeping on the ground and there are lots of insects around! plus no light and no space for luggage. Pay the extra 5$ to get at least the next level tent or use your own tent.
The place is great, located in the park with all the animals around, nice views, good food, really nice stuff and service, really comfortable banda.

GermanyThe matrasses in our tent were not the best.
Perfect place to visit the national park. Great food, vegetarian options. Attentive staff. Basic, but clean bathroom with hot shower. Wifi at communal area. And we loved meeting the Elefant at the campsite while feeling totally safe.

GermanyThe drain of the shower wasn't working well and the shower didn't have warm water in the morning.
I stayed for one night at a cottage during my stay at QENP. The lodge is inside the park, only a 5min drive from Kazinga channel. The room was nicely decorated and the bathroom was spacious. Full board was included (two courses for lunch, three for dinner) and the quality of the food was good. Overall, I had a nice stay.

United StatesThe toilet seat in the men’s bathroom was slightly broken and the road into the lodge was daily bumpy.
Centrally located in Queen Elizabeth National Park. Engiri has a smaller capacity which made it cozy and less noisy. We were greeted with wet towels upon arrival which was nice after being out on a dusty game drive. The food was beyond amazing! It was nice to have a choice in the menu and the option of packed lunches and breakfast as early as 5:30am. We really appreciated the nighttime escort to our tent to guard from wandering hippos and elephants. The staff, Brenda and Patience, were fun to talk to and always attentive.

IsraelOnly one thing: the water pressure is not so great, but I learned not to take even hot water for granted in Africa and we enjoyed plenty, so we had an adequate shower.
Location. I thought other reviewers were just lucky to have animals walking through the lodge ground. We saw elephants all day. We even came across a hippo at night. Don't worry, you are accompanied by the local Askari after dark. The food was delicious. We are Jewish, so we wanted full board place with veggie options for the weekend. We were not disappointed. We were late to dinner by more than an hour (lions still hiding). Laundry was on time, dry, folded and reasonably priced.

GermanyI unfortunately can't recommend the nature walk. It turned out to be a walk along the main road, trying to dodge speeding cars. No nature, no animals. Not what we had expected or booked. Everything else was a great experience though and highly recommendable.
The location of Engiri Lodge is great. Very close to the park entrance - close enough to even watch elephants while having your breakfast. The tents are simple and clean, food is very good. We enjoyed our stay a lot and found the place to charge fair prices for what is offered. We organized a guide for a game drive through the lodge which was also a great experience.

United StatesWi-Fi was only available in the main lodge. Restrooms and showers were in a separate building but kept immaculate. We had a few pieces of laundry which we felt we were greatly overcharged for.
Upon arrival we were greeted with delicious cold fruit juice. The dining area is on an upper level, covered with open walls. A great vantage point to watch birds and free-roaming elephants. Our meals were all well prepared and tasteful. Chilled water was available upon request. The large canvas tent was covered with a thatch roof. The beds were quite comfortable. No fan or other means to cool off in the hot evenings. We opted to leave our front tent flaps open throughout the night. It was safe enough as the grounds are patrolled by security in the event of roaming elephants through the compound. They had a small area of souvenirs that were very reasonably priced.

NorwayIt would have been even better if there was wifi connection in the cabin.
A very good lodge with an excellent location between Lake Edward and Lake George. The room/cabin was very nice and clean. The food was excellent, and it was wonderful to have all meals included in the price. We got help to organize a drive in the park and a spectacular boattrip were we came close to the animals. Really good value for money!

United KingdomNothing!
Engiri was fabulous, the lodge was terrific and had everything I needed for a perfect stay. The staff were really attentive, and there was always somebody waiting to escort me to the restaurant when needed (as the wildlife, including hippos and elephants, often pass close by). There's plenty to do nearby, a safari on Queen Elizabeth National Park, chimpanzee tracking in the rainforest, and highly recommended, a visit to the local orphanage and village where you can see demonstrations of coffee making, banana gin and vanilla production. Highly recommended!
