Not much outside the resort but really everything you need is at Nile River Explorers

Beautiful location on the Nile with great view from tent. Staff were welcoming and helpful. Restaurant and bar were very reasonable with tasty food and big breakfast included. Waterslide was great fun as was the Kayaking

The location was a little difficult to get to. We arrived after a couple hours of rain and had great trouble getting up the small hill in our little 4x4 because of the extreme muddiness of the roads. This is likely the case anywhere in Uganda during rainfall; just be aware that is a small hill from Jinja up to Budongo. It is 20 minutes' drive from the main intercity roads and the middle of Jinja. The restuarant food is expensive (20,000-30,000 Shillings) given that local food is around 2,000-10,000 Shillings.

Nile River Explorers has spacious and intriguing grounds, with dorms, tents, a restaurant/bar, large shower/restroom facilities, a mini-treehouse, and even a slide into the river! The rooms are comfortable and well-equipped with fans and blankets. The staff are exceptionally friendly and helpful with every request. The restaurant offers lovely views across the Nile - you're right on the bank. A favourite element of our stay was the large group of (two species of) monkeys who come chattering and skittering around in the cool morning.

We stayed in the dorm rooms and it’s not a luxury hotel - but it’s clean, it’s safe, and it’s beautiful!

The place is phenomenal. Great views, great food, great value for money. I will recommend this place to everyone I know.
