Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

This is one of those special places that is so unique and so magical you almost want to keep it all to yourself! But since that wouldn’t be fair I will give my honest advice: if you are in the area you won’t want to miss it! Go and enjoy one of the most wonderful places in Uganda, surrounded by the mighty Nile & Mother Nature. Staff & food also great, but this place is all about location, location, location!

An amazing location to relax and enjoy all the activities available. Great food and service from the staff..... alway happy to help and cater for your needs. Even the CEO was very helpful, especially as we were required to complete all necessary Covid PCR test before departure with her help.

UgandaI had hoped to surprise my partner on arrival for his birthday but the set up in the room was not ready. All was done when we had arrived.
Very tasty and delicious meals. The serenity - sound of the river flowing is priceless. The staff are warm and welcoming. Was given my preferred room.

UgandaThere was no wifi outside of the rooms. But if you want to tune out the world then that’s no problem. All in all that was a very minor thing and you could always access the internet back in the room
The view from our room was amazing. We were in room 10 overlooking the waterfall. Absolutely stunning views and the thundering water added to the experience.

UgandaI was in the lodge last time and it was a good experience so I went back. It is the lodget middle of the wild water which means nothing much to do as an activity unless you leave the premises. I invited my friend from Korea and took her there thinking to chill, swimming. When I arrived the swimming pool is under maintenance work. I asked why i wasn't informed in advance, the staff said everyone else was informed but me because i booked the room early and missed out from the notification list. it was a shame.
I like the location of the lodge right infront of the wild water. Facility is well maintained minus cleanliness.

United StatesThe rooms didn’t have A/c and you had to ask for a fan which didn’t help much. A luxury resort like this should have built in ceiling fans or A/C. I don’t pay this much money to sweat while I sleep during May when it is hotter in Uganda. Also, I found it off that the Booking.com package included all you can drink, but if you ask for a second desert or to have eggs and French toast at breakfast you have to pay extra. I should have drank several bottles of wine to offset the costs of extra food items with prefix meals.
The property has a unique location that no one else offers, sleeping in the middle of Nile river rapids! The staff are very professional and well trained. The Booking.com drinks inclusion/menu was good. The recycled plastic walkways and public areas were both sustainable and very well maintained, they made it feel as if we were in a jungle treehouse. The lunch items were the best, I loved the Apple Crumble desert so much I asked for seconds! The price on Booking.com is even a better value than the Ugandan Foreign Resident rate when booking through Wildwaters directly. Booking.com really was the best value/deal to stay at this popular resort.

Switzerlandwe were placed in a room close to the landing place. so we not only could hear the boats passing by, but when the boats took a turn to get to the landing zone, they could peak on our balcony. also the tap of the bathtub was broken, so it took quiet a while for the water to be filled up
the room is very spacious and the stuff is super friendly and does everything to make the stay as comfortable as possible

NigeriaStaff did their best but seemed they were maybe unempowered by management to go the extra mile? EG the vegetarian options for meals weren’t great and I asked to add some extra food to one of the lunch options which was literally just a plate with only cauliflower on! they seemed quite stressed out by the request. Would be fantastic if more attention could be paid to increasing the veggie options and quality! Would also suggest it would be great if staff would proactively serve folks sitting in the pool area
Truly an amazing place, unique location and lovely facilities.
