Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United StatesThe rooms and hallways needed maintenance in doors, windows and electric outlets. It will be beautiful once they finished the proposed restauration.
We liked everything ! The architecture , the big rooms with towering ceilings, the ambiance of 1940"s with marble and beautiful woods and the colored designed glasses at the end of each staircases. The thermal pools are wonderful, the breakfast offering is abundant and varied. The staff and servers were incredible in offering a detailed attention to us. The selection of artists playing during dinner time was excellent. They created a familiar environment. EXCELLENT !!!

SloveniaCOVID protocols made little sense and were applied randomly. No WiFi from 11 PM to 7 AM. occasional issues with hot water. Cleaning staff screaming at each other in the hallway. Nowhere to sit and have a drink after 10:30 PM, only possible in a crowded casino.
Beautiful architecture, historic property. Must have been luxurious half a century ago, it’s a pity it’s fallen into disrepair and standards have slipped.

UruguayWell with going into to much details because I could but the hotel really needs a revamp the basic rooms are disgustingly dirty after a huge rant and the show of pictures we took of the mould and stained rotten carpets and rusty fridge at reception we were upgraded to a huge superia room, 90% cleaner than the hole hotel, still you have big fridge but not allowed to take anything to your room no coffee making facilities even in the executive sweet if u can call it one 🤷Massive empty hallways makes you feel like your in an old hospital back in the 60s, empty wall after wall and in need of a good paint job. The facade around the building is crumbling badly and is in desperate need of renovation, windows and blinds are all rusty and rotten, is a shame as this could be an amazing hotel with some love and a hell of a lot of attention. If your gluton free then breakfast aint for you as Breakfast is bread , bread or bread basic fruit but find something that looks nice your be lucky, cheap sliced cheese and ham or u can have did i say it BREAD with BREAD. The only good I can say about hotel is the history the entrance and the thermal pool otherwise your think your going back to the 80s when u see the other pools with a rusty diving board that seem to have been there for at least 50yrs. Price wise if u not got the executive sweet then be aware 😬. I have stayed in these dirty dingy rooms in 2☆ hotels for 3rd of the price in central London. Basically it's expensive for what u get. 3 days max stay anymore is not Advisory. It's a government run hotel and boy one can tell. Most if the staff are nice and u can see why they like making films here.
Location is amazing beautiful beach 15min walk and u cover the hole bay front road all restaurants and bars. Prices in restaurants vary but if u check you can find some good set menus. Will come back again but definitely not stay at this hotel.

UruguayFirstly, we had requested for a child's crib in the room. A crib with a dirty mattress and no bedding was kept outside the room instead. We could not use it. Second, the bathroom needs some repairs. The shower sprayed water in all directions which meant we couldn't give our baby a bath there, just about managed a quick bath for ourselves! Third, breakfast was terrible - just some bread, whole uncut fruits and some cereal. This is the first time we didn't see eggs on a breakfast spread and had to pay extra for an omelette that we requested! Fourth, the dinner that was included in the price we paid was absolutely horrible. Everything (including the pasta and croquettes) was cold and we had to ultimately order a separate warm dish for our child. Fifth, the staff at the restaurant was not very helpful, except a lady whose name I do not recall. We had to wait for a long time for someone to even catch our eye or show us a menu. And no one bothered to inform us when my hungry and tired child's dish was delayed. We had to find someone to ask about it! All in all, we would not stay here again or recommend it to other people.
The person at the reception was very good, helpful and welcoming. The location is excellent. The building is very pretty. It has a children's play room which is quite decent.

United StatesFirst the summary: * Overall experience: extreme poor value for what you pay * Calling this a 4 star hotel just because of its “once upon a time” grandiosity is absurd. This is today a 2 star hotel at most. * I paid 695 dollars for 2 rooms for 3 nights. The Review: Firstly, the hotel's maintenance was severely lacking. The rooms were outdated and in dire need of renovation. The carpets were old and stained, the furniture was worn out, and the walls had cracks and peeling paint. The bathroom was moldy (see pictures of the black mold) and the shower had poor water pressure Shower-head was disintegrating. Hot water will gradually come after several minutes of letting it run (4-5m). Two small plastic shampoo and conditioner . Only a few small soap bars. Onto the beds. One room had two very narrow single beds and one had a single double bed. The bedsheets were stained. You get one pillow and it was lumpy and uncomfortable, making it difficult to get a good night's sleep. There is no Air conditioner in either of the rooms provided. I read later that there are some with AC at an extra cost. We left windows open and a noisy ceiling fan on. The mosquitos had a field day with us. The bathroom is a partition made inside the once large room which was clearly made with lower quality materials than the building itself and as mentioned moldy. No window or natural light or ventilation in the bathroom. One light fixture which was lacking the cover. The breakfast buffet was very disappointing. There were few choices available, and the food was of poor quality. Fruits consisted of some oranges, apples, green bananas and watermelon. There were a large amount of pastries but all the same or very similar type. Basically variations of unstuffed croissants. Only one type of tea. One big stainless pot of bad coffee and milk. To get a cappuccino you would have to pay extra.

United KingdomAfter thinking that I had booked and paid for a 4 star hotel, only to turn up to a 2 star (at best) hotel that i basically ready to be demolished. There has been no modernization or maintenance since it was built 60 years ago. A pitiful experience and will be complaining further.

United KingdomI feel ripped off. I paid 115 USD per night. The rooms have no heating, everything is literally from 1930 without any sort of renewal or update. This means that the doors and windows are old, wind blows through, and the rooms are freezing, and also no heating... so imagine... Breakfast is a also a joke in comparison to what you get in other hotels for the same price. Basically, I'd be happy to pay probably 40-50 or maybe even 60 USD (considering the 'pictoresc' environment), but not 115 USD per night. Some of the staff were great, others, quite 'not-customer' oriented. Definitely not coming back.
