The staff were excellent. Free parking available. Spacious room, with stone accents. Breakfast was okay, no cook on the first day. Spotlessly clean. The pool was really good, comfortable lounges. The hotel helped us out with getting laundry done for us.

Shower water pressure and the rough bed

Charming location near (10min stroll) the river, great staff and comfy beds! The pool (heated) is an added bonus!

The reception area and halls felt a bit dark and sterile, especially compared to the rest of the building, which had such tasteful stone and wood. Tv was large but we couldn’t access any English channels.

Cute living room, dining room, bedrooms, lawn, and pool. Close walk to the river beach, where everyone hangs out at sunset. Horses geez on the pastures between the hotel and beach. Very sweet staff.

Nice quiet location that allows you to walk into the town and through the park at the side of the river. Secure parking. Swimming pool. Very comfortable bed and a nice breakfast. Dinner in the open plan restaurant with a reception area and an open fire. Bonus of a family of Toros (national bird of Uruguay) poking around the lawn in the morning for a bit of bird watching after breakfast!

We went to Carmelo mainly for the wine experience at the wineries around the town. The hotel was very helpful in booking wine tours and bus travel from Carmelo. Rodrigo's English was perfect and that really made this easier for us. We really enjoyed the breakfasts-they had a nice assortment of drinks, cereals, pastries, cheeses and meats every day. We also enjoyed walking in the park area just across the road from the Hotel. The coffee machine had a nice assortment of coffee drinks which it would make. We would definately stay there again.

The nights can be very noisy because of room doors that are extremely loud to operate. The hotel is located in a area with nothing interesting around by foot. The breakfast can improve offering fresh pastries and eggs

The room with terrace wasn’t worth the extra price for us.

We LOVED our stay at Bemar. The owner/manager was incredibly attentive and kind. We loved using the bikes to get to the beach, the town, and wineries. Everything was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious as was the restaurant for dinner when we didn’t feel like going out. This hotel is amazing and we’ll definitely be back!

The staff did not speak any English. The water of the swimming pool was very very hot which is not pleasant when it's hot anyway.

Bathroom not very practical- toilet seat too small, hard to flush and poor lighting. Pillows not smooth enough. Lack of decoration altogether, although the materials are new and good. Food could improve at their restaurant.

Too expensive for what it offers, at least when we stayed (high season). Breakfast options very limited.

Good option to stay in Carmelo with swimming pool, air conditioning, restaurant with dinner options, nice and respectable employees, parking.

This place is just average. Nothing special. At the cost of the night it just did not add up. Facilities not so good. Not only do you hear local dogs barking all night you also hear the sounds from the other guests coming and going down a little hallway. Breakfast was subpar. Our room was small. Wifi was not so good. For the cost I was looking for better. Would not stay here again nor would I recommend this hotel.

Shower was decent. Staff was nice enough. The bed itself was comfy.
