Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Everything, therefore we’re back at hotel Bonne Etoile again after 4 weeks in Argentina. Breakfast till 11:30am, and if you prefer, you may enjoy it in your room without extra charge! Small family run hotel with a nice homey feel to it, in a perfect location on the sunset side of the peninsula.

The small, family run Hotel Bonne Etoile deserves all five stars: excellent service, great breakfast, friendly and warm atmosphere, clean and well organized and correctly priced. Also, the location on the Brava side of the peninsula gives good protection against the strong winter storms. We like it so much here that we decided to extend our stay for 3 more weeks! 100% recommended!

The room had a good heating system that worked well during the winter storms. There was ample wardrobe space. The bed was comfortable. The shower worked well, nice and warm shower. Breakfast times from 7:30 to 11:30 ! Breakfast buffet had the basics ( ham, cheese, different types of pan, rolls, cereals, milk and yogurts, coffee, hot chocolate and more). Great staff, always in good mood and friendly, ready to help with whatever you need. The hotel is clean and well maintained, in walking distance to everything on the peninsula in Punta Del Este, good price /value. 100% recommended.

UruguayMy initial room had issues with the air conditioning and the staff had to move me to another room. The new room was so MUCH better, so I don’t know why they didn’t put me there in the first place.
Location. Near Gorlero Avenue, which makes it very convenient for transportation. The hotel is well known in town, so all transportation companies know the location. Breakfast was also very good.

SwitzerlandThe photos on the website don't live up to the reality (which is much better). One thing that could be improved is to make the hotel more plastic-free (for instance having reusable shampoo and shower-gel bottles, rather than little sachets. Also, a soap dispenser would save a lot of plastic as the little soap bars were all individually wrapped).
A very nice hotel with a lovely vibe. It is family run and all the family members are just lovely.
