Rooms (I tried two) smells of sigarette, both. about Wifi, inside the room is weak or absente (stay in the courtyard). The window is small, or absent in the common room (if the lack bothers you)

Great Location Is not inside ancient walls, but close. It is a sort of caravanserray, with three rooms and a internal courtyard where relax or have breakfast Owner can helps you to organize some tour and all his family are absolutly lovely. Across “the river” there is one of my favorite restaurant in all Uzbekistan area. Try it.

Everything was great.

Carousel Hotel is located just outside Ichan Qa’la in an easy to reach area. The rooms are clean, the staff are friendly, and the breakfast is good.

Excellent Breakfast Such friendly staff and so helpful with everything. and they offer excursions which we didn't do but they looked good value. The building itself and our room were both beautiful and the bed was comfortable and enormous. we could change the temperature easily in the room. There was a big overhead light and also smaller softer lamps which were shaped like candles. it had a nice old town feel to the whole place and for the money, was well above what we expected.

It was modern and the building is really nice. I also really appreciated the staff letting me have access to my private room at 8:30am having taken an overnight train to Khiva as no one else was staying in my room the prior night.

The hostel bathroom smelt bad, most likely due to poor ventilation. Toilet needs to be bleached daily. Bathroom and bedroom floor needs cleaning daily too. Although the housekeeper was quite heavily pregnant so I do let her off; perhaps one of the other staff could help her out with some cleaning. Breakfast came with french toast which would have been much nicer if it was made fresh alongside the omelette.

Great location, 5 min walk from old town of Khiva. Good communication from the hotel and 24hr reception. Omelette for breakfast which was a nice change from typical breakfasts in this part of the world. Friendly staff. Hostel room was nice. Can get drinks (including beer) at the hotel. It's an old madrassa and one of the staff showed me around, explaining what it would've been like when it was used as a madrassa. Little soap and shampoo provided was a nice touch, and two towels. Nice to be able to have a bath whilst staying in a hostel room.
