How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Hair was spotted everywhere: on the pillow, towel, and bathrobe. Additionally, the items mentioned were not washed well.

Minor things such as no safe in the room, furnished well but a little outdated and no foreign tv channels.
Staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was very good, room size was decent, clean and quite comfortable.

It was hot, as the aircon was already switched to the heating mode. And no possibility to change that.

Admin chaos if Booking.com systems do not match the hotels. It is fine and a smile and a little perseverance is worth it. the hotel is a good choice just needs a little patience..
Great location with a nice pool. This was our 3rd stay here during our trip and once you understand the peccadillos of the place you will realise they are also its charm. Check in is amusing but then I don't speak an of the local languages so my bad. The staff are great and have to put up with v large tour groups arriving at strange hours.

Appalling check in and they forgot to send our airport pick up at 2am so was not a great start. The next time we stayed it was much smoother and the staff were really helpful . It seems to be their systems v booking.com systems v language issues v kill me now I just want my bed its 3am and I've explained this 3 times already......
Really comfy beds, great size of room and a nice lux feel for a good price. There is a pleasant pool both indoors and out and a good breakfast. Its also really close to the metro and the museums.

They are used to catering for big tour groups so individuals checking in just need to avoid those times and put up with the fact that check in can be long and painful but persevere it' s worth it. The hotel charges $35 for an airport pick up. Don't bother. Airport taxis cost $20 for a nice car. Hotel to airport on Yondex $3 to $4 so easy.
This was the second time we stayed at the City Palace on this trip. Check in was much smoother, the staff were lovely- some front desk probs but booking related not personnel. It's a great location, big comfortable hotel with a nice pool. All the taxis know it and it's close to the metro and many of the museums. Also great with the Hyatt next door which offers a lovely roof terrace for sunset cocktails.

Check in process between the hotel and Booking.com systems beyond painful. It took 4 attempts over 40mins..at 3am after the car pick up had not arrived at the airport. Worth it once in but oh boy both sides need to talk!
Really comfy beds, great sized clean room with a good breakfast in a fantastic location. Good value and next door to the Hyatt for dinner and great drinks terrace there.

I had an early flight in the morning and couldn't make it to breakfast, thus I asked to prepare a lunchbox. Although the lunchbox was prepared on time, the contents was far from expectations. A small sandwich, water and a few small fruits, the value of such a lunch box compared to the price of the room with breakfast included was very disappointing. Also, as I had an early flight in the morning I wanted to go rest early, but the music from a bar on the ground floor was quite loud even for the 10th floor.
The location was excellent with a lot to see within walking distance. The room was very nice, spacious and impeccably clean. The bed was huge and very comfy. As well, the night view from the 10th floor was quite nice.

Too long waiting time to check in, the girl was always alone. There was a gentleman at the reception who questioned my wife why she doesn't have that green passport with her for Uzbek people. Is he a police officer? Every Time I've seen this gentleman he looked upset. There was no fridge in the room and the bath was leaking. The hotel needs a refurbishment, it's not five star. Filter coffee for breakfast? Wyndham Tashkent and Bukhara or Hilton Samarkand are four star hotels with better service.
Location, size of the room, the female receptionist was very friendly.

We were on the 10th floor and faced the outdoor restaurant that had very loud music going every night till late. I emailed the property twice before arriving asking for a late check out but I had no response except to say your stay is in 3 days and the cost is …..
We chose this hotel as our tour ended here and we stayed an extra 2 nights post tour. It had 2 good size swimming pools with private cabanas, room size was generous and breakfast was adequate.

Slow wi-fi, occasionally disappeared at all. When I checked in there was a bad smell in the room - like somebody had been smoking there, although the room was a non-smoking space (gradually gone)
