Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyI was told that breakfast was offered from 7 to 10 am but when I arrived at 8 am the first morning (I had to leave the hotel at 8.30 as I had booked a tour), I had to wait for 20 min as they had just started preparing it.
The room and bathroom were clean and the neighbourhood (ca 20 min on foot from both Registan and the Amur Timur Mausoleum) quiet. The owner did not speak any English but we worked everything out with my basic Russian and google translate. The breakfast was simple but sufficient to start the day (since I had to leave early in the morning on my last day, the owner left me bread and cheese/cold cut) in the fridge to take with me.

NetherlandsThe hosts were amazing and they made a different breakfast every day. They also helped us with our restaurant reservations and other things we needed translation for. It really felt like a home away from home and if you have the Yandex Go app it’s really easy to get around by taxi.

RussiaWhile everything is very nice and clean, it would be nice to have a bit more storage space. There is a wardrobe to hang some clothes but it has only a single drawer
A lovely place with comfy interiors. The staff is very welcoming and friendly, rooms are super clean. Breakfasts are great with a good variety of dishes. Wifi speed actually amazes me as it is about 80 Mbps anywhere on the property. I like the location as it is easy to get to the center of the city even on foot.

Hidden gem in the very accessible location , very close to main city attractions and shopping venues .The hotel is brand new property with very clean and cosy room , where you can rest and relax after exploring Samarkand attractions. The hotel staff has been very friendly and they even can get you taxi to the airport or any request you have ,they will be happy to assist.Check in and check out at very convenience time and super flexible! There are few restaurants around the East House hotel (walking distance ) where you can try authentic local food and their beer( top quality!) .Samarkand has been amazing and I would be back in winter time to experience different vibes! I would be back with my friends! Thank you East House!

United Arab EmiratesIt is not a hotel despite the description. More like an Air B&B. Rooms are extremely small and there is a lack of hanging space. They do not take credit card which was not stated on the booking. Luckily we had cash but it would have been useful to know. The walls are very thin and sounds travel.
Very clean

United Arab Emirateshad a disappointing experience at this hotel. It was advertised as a hotel, but it turned out to be someone's private home. The pictures they showed were only of the rooms and a panoramic view, so we didn't know what we were getting ourselves into. When we arrived, we were assigned a room that lacked privacy. We could hear everything going on outside, even when we spoke in a low voice. Additionally, the bathroom flush wasn't working properly, which made it quite unpleasant to use. The only redeeming factor was the lady who managed the place. She acted as the cleaner, cook, and manager, as there was no reception. She was kind and tried her best to make our stay comfortable, but unfortunately, it wasn't enough to make up for the other issues. Furthermore, the location didn't feel very safe, especially at night. It's far from the city center, and we had to rely on Yandex to get around. For the price we paid (45 dollars a night), we could have found better hotels in the city center. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone looking for a real hotel experience.
