How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Water pressure in toilet a bit unstable. Water can change form hot to cold due unstable water pressure for hot and cold.
variety food for breakfast. Credit to Bonu. She help my family to the very best. She can speeak english very fluent.

Absolutely phenomenal, few minutes walk from all main sights (located inside the city walls), daughter speaks fluent English and is really helpful, lovely family home with breakfast included. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Exceptional stay experience! The reception staff is proficient in English, making communication effortless. The local breakfast was delightful. They provided great assistance when we needed to contact the airport staff regarding our lost luggage arrangement.

We really felt the warmth and hospitality of Uzbek family by staying in this lovely guest house. It was lovely to meet the mother & daughter, they were welcoming and very helpful and ready to offer and suggest things. English wasn't a problem at all. Room was big and we had our own toilet. It was in a very nice and quiet area of this small city. We totally enjoyed our stay :)

Its a traditional house with all amenities. Breakfast was huge and made with love. SHe was so kind that at our check out she insisted us to pack some food with us. Location is perfect at the middle of the wall city. You can roam around on your feet. It was cold and her house was totally equipped with proper heating system.

They was really nothing major. A bedside lamp I think is needed in the room because the main light is a bit too much.
The family that runs it is sooooo lovely. I can’t stress it enough they are amazing! And welcomed us in their home.

Amazing hosts! We felt as at home. Guest house is located in the heart of the old city, and oriental fairytale of Khiva starts right in this house!

Family atmosphere is what creates this guesthouse. The position is very central and a few minutes to all important highlights. The staff was very helpful and polite. We received tons of useful information about Chiva and Uzbekistan. Room and bathroom were clean and well kept. We liked also breakfasts - tasty and traditional.

Clean, great location inside Icahn Kala, good breakfast, good AC for hot summers, and very friendly staff. The daughter speaks very good English and is helpful.

Quad room didn’t have private bathroom even though it was stated in the booking but you have to cross the hall to get to the bathrooms.
Very friendly and helpful family. Guesthouse has the perfect location in old town. Nice breakfast and they even packed a breakfast box for us when we had to catch an early train.

Location in heart of khiva, nice host, clean, stone throw distance from major attractions. our kids have wonderful time with the family. breakfast was also really good with lot of variety. For price, location and nice host rating 10 is also less.

The beds may be too hard for some.
We felt like at home here, everything was absolutely clean. The rooms are cozy, we stayed here several days. The location is simply perfect! The landlady and her English-speaking daughter were very nice and helpful. It is necessary to highlight the very professional approach of the hostess. Among other things, she arranged for us an early morning transfer to the airport for $16, the driver was ready ahead of time. Wi-Fi and tea available. Great value for money. Simple breakfast included (2 eggs, pastry, cucumber, dried fruit, tea).

I can't say enough good things about them! They were accommodating for our early arrival(7am overnight train from Tashkent), offered a wonderful breakfast, have a great location, and were such gracious hosts. One of them even came with me to translate when I had to take an emergency trip to the pharmacy for my son. We would definitely stay here again!
